Donald Trump meets with cabinet at Camp David to discuss Iran war resolution<\/h2>\n

President Donald Trump<\/a> will convene a cabinet meeting later today at his \u2060Camp David retreat as he grapples with how to resolve his war against Iran.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He will also be keen to find a way to bring down gasoline prices as the Republicans<\/a> head into \u2060the November \u200bmidterm elections.<\/p>\n

This will be only his third trip \u2060to Camp David during his second term, with Trump largely having stayed away from the mountaintop presidential retreat in western \u2060Maryland.<\/p>\n

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt \u200btold reporters at a briefing last \u200cweek that this would \u200cbe the 13th Cabinet meeting of Trump\u2019s second term and that it \u200cwould be \u201ca lot of fun and something different for the cabinet to experience together.\u201d<\/p>\n

The agenda for the meeting will likely focus heavily on foreign policy, Reuters reported. Trump is engaged in tit-for-tat strikes against Iranian targets with no end in sight to a conflict that the president initially projected would \u200clast just a few weeks but is now five months old.<\/p>\n

The Iran war has sent gasoline prices spiraling and taken a \u200btoll on his popularity across the US. This week, a Reuters-Ipsos poll found just one in three Americans support the war, the lowest in the poll since the conflict\u2019s early days.<\/p>\n

In another foreign policy development, Trump on Thursday night announced that his so-called \u201cBoard of Peace\u201d reached an agreement for the complete \u2060disarmament of Hamas \u200bmilitants and other armed groups in Gaza. Israel has yet to respond officially to the plan.<\/p>\n
