It\u2019s summertime, which seems like a good excuse to go walkabout for a few days. I\u2019m going to walk south towards the sea, sleep under the stars, and see what happens along the way.<\/p>\n

I thought a fun way to document it would be using my (non-existent) painting skills to rustle up some (rubbish) watercolours whenever I might ordinarily be tempted to snap a photo for Insta.<\/p>\n

So what if I paint a bunch of cards and pop them in the post to anyone who\u2019d like to receive something handwritten through the post that isn\u2019t a bill or a parking fine? (Only UK postal addresses, I\u2019m afraid.)<\/p>\n

Would you like a postcard from me? It seems like a chance to raise some money for a good cause, so I\u2019m going to request a donation for the Rivers Trust in exchange for a unique piece of art which will definitely be worth less than that in 100 years time. What\u2019s not to love\u2026?<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the plan:<\/p>\n

  1. I get walking and painting (badly). \ud83d\udeb6\ud83c\udfa8<\/li>\n
  2. You generously make a donation to help us save our rivers. I\u2019m going to ask for a minimum of \u00a320.91 [that\u2019s \u00a320 plus a 91p second class stamp], plus an extra \u00a31 for all of you who just exclaimed, \u201991p for a second class stamp!\u2019 \ud83d\ude09 You can make the donation here<\/a>. If you can spare more than \u00a320, that would be brilliant. \ud83d\udca6<\/li>\n
  3. Please then fill in this form<\/a> to give me the address you\u2019d like the card sending to. (Apologies for the clunky extra logistical step here: blame the General Data Protection Regulation.) \u270d\ufe0f\ud83e\udd71<\/li>\n
  4. I\u2019ll paint my (bad) masterpiece and pop it in the post to you in mid-August.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
