Meet our neeeeeeighbors!

We have discovered we live next to a farm! There are horses and cows that we visit while out on our evening scooter walks. Sometimes they are way out in the pasture, and sometimes they’re right up by the fence! They are nice and friendly. Guess we’re country folk now!

""

There are also babies!!

""

""

""

Another frequent visitor:

""

And I had a huge buck in my backyard a few weeks ago!

Here’s my morning view, which I am obsessed with. I’m trying to have my coffee outside rather than at a computer.

""

And here is the view when we had two days of wildfire smoke haze make its way to Virginia.

""

That same day, we had planned to celebrate Sean’s birthday at Blenheim Vineyards and moved the party indoors due to the air quality concerns. We still had a great time with an Amalfi Coast theme!! Everyone came dressed in blues and whites.

""

""

""

No amount of gum graft surgery could keep me from eating this cake! It was a vanilla cake from Wegmans with lemon filling, and Savannah the wedding planner decorated it beautifully with fresh lemons and hydrangeas!

""

""

Happy Birthday Month, Sean!

""

""

After the winery, we went to Whiskey Jar for dinner, where I consumed this entire blackened catfish with delicious grits underneath. It was my first real meal since Wednesday and I was starving!

""

Other Gum-Friendly Foods of the Week

Lots of Splendid Spoon smoothies –

""

""

Cottage cheese fest!

(Surprisingly, I didn’t have any oatmeal this week, mostly because I didn’t have the energy to stand and cook it! The grab-and-go foods were worth the investment.)

""

Wegmans soup

""

Smoked salmon “salad”

Nothing crunchy inside – all mush!

""

Pasta and Bolognese

When I could chew more!

""

Thai Curry

Which I ate verrrrrrrrry slowly.

""

Alamo Milkshake!

Saw The Odyssey! It was good!

""

The Newsies

I also saw the Virginia Theatre Festival’s Newsies production and it was FABULOUS! So many great dancers!

""

World Cup with my Birchie

""

Popsicles!

""

We are heading to Bald Head Island next week, so I won’t have any more posts until August.
