Boring is Fine<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yeah, baselines are on the boring side.\u00a0 But, they do provide the fundamental understanding of where price is going.\u00a0 Above, it\u2019s going up and below, going down.\u00a0 Nothing special here.\u00a0 The trick is to find baselines that can read the market\u2019s mood and provide us the best possible signals.<\/span><\/p>\n

The first paragraph actually triggered a memory a trader shared with me many years ago.\u00a0 It became a core memory and one I share with new(er) traders who don\u2019t really know what to expect.\u00a0 It also serves as a \u201cself-help\u201d of sorts.\u00a0 Since it taps into the psychology of trading, I felt it valued enough to share.<\/span><\/p>\n

Trading should be boring.<\/i><\/b><\/h3>\n

Yep, you read that correctly.\u00a0 If you imagined trading like in the movies where everybody is wired to the gills, screaming in a chaotic, fast paced environment fueled by ever changing trading boards, and people running around, it\u2019s not ideal.<\/span><\/p>\n

Even siting at a desk by yourself with your eyes popping out of your head as you make split second decisions; opening and closing trades trying to capture every change in market direction to squeeze every last pip out of each move\u2026well, as the song goes; dream on.\u00a0 <\/span>Keep it boring.\u00a0 You will live to trade another day and probably prevent burnout and\/or blowing up your account.\u00a0 Now back to our regularly scheduled profile\u2026\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
