Is the Company a Leader in Its Industry?<\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The best companies are usually leaders in their space.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you look at a stock, ask yourself:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Is this company one of the best in its industry?<\/li>\n<li>Does it have a strong competitive advantage?<\/li>\n<li>Is it gaining market share?<\/li>\n<li>Is it in an industry with long-term growth potential?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For example, market leaders in industries like artificial intelligence, technology, payments, consumer products, and infrastructure often have better chances of winning over time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Strong companies tend to build stronger brands, better products, and larger customer bases.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"2-does-the-ceo-have-skin-in-the-game\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Does the CEO Have Skin in the Game?<\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I like companies where the CEO or founder owns a meaningful stake in the business.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why?<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because when leadership owns a large portion of the company, their interests are more aligned with shareholders.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the company does well, they benefit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the company struggles, they feel it too.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This often leads to better long-term decisions because the CEO is not just thinking about short-term bonuses or quarterly performance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They are thinking like an owner.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"3-is-the-ceo-visionary-or-just-operational\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Is the CEO Visionary or Just Operational?<\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some CEOs are good at maintaining a business.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Others are good at transforming it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I like visionary leaders who think long-term, invest in innovation, and build durable advantages around their businesses.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Visionary leaders focus on:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>New products<\/li>\n<li>Expansion opportunities<\/li>\n<li>Technology<\/li>\n<li>Long-term growth<\/li>\n<li>Creating a competitive moat<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These leaders are often willing to sacrifice short-term profits in order to build something much larger over time.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"4-is-the-founder-still-involved\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Is the Founder Still Involved?<\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Founder-led businesses often outperform because founders usually understand the company better than anyone else.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They know the mission, the culture, and the original problem the company was created to solve.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many of the world\u2019s most successful companies remained founder-led during their strongest growth periods.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That does not mean every founder-led company is automatically good.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But founder involvement can be a positive sign because it often shows long-term commitment and deep belief in the business.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"5-who-else-owns-the-company\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. Who Else Owns the Company?<\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is important to know who else is investing in the company.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Institutional ownership can provide useful clues.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For example:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Are large investment firms buying more shares?<\/li>\n<li>Are respected funds increasing their positions?<\/li>\n<li>Are major institutions reducing their exposure?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I pay attention to what large firms are doing, especially companies like BlackRock and other major institutional investors.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This does not mean you should blindly follow them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But it can help you understand where sophisticated investors see long-term opportunity.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"6-what-are-the-fees-for-etfs\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">6. What Are the Fees? (For ETFs)<\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are investing through ETFs instead of individual stocks, fees matter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the most important numbers to look at is the MER, which stands for Management Expense Ratio.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MER is the fee you pay to own the ETF.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It may seem small, but over time, high fees can reduce your returns significantly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That is why I prefer ETFs with reasonable fees, especially when they track similar indexes or strategies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The lower your fees, the more of your money stays invested and compounds over time.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"7-is-it-a-broken-stock-or-a-broken-company\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">7. Is It a Broken Stock or a Broken Company?<\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is one of the most important questions investors can ask.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes a stock falls because of fear, bad news, or a weak market.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That does not always mean the business itself is broken.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A broken stock may simply be temporarily undervalued.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A broken company is different.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A broken company has:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Weak leadership<\/li>\n<li>Declining revenue<\/li>\n<li>Poor products<\/li>\n<li>High debt<\/li>\n<li>Loss of customers<\/li>\n<li>No clear long-term future<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Understanding the difference can help you avoid panic and make better investment decisions.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"8-does-the-company-have-recurring-revenue\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">8.
