The new facility will initially provide additional production capacity rather than immediately increasing monthly output.<\/p>\n<p>Boeing is currently producing 42 737 MAX aircraft per month and expects to reach 47 aircraft per month following discussions with the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The company has said the Everett line will support its ambition to increase production to 52 aircraft per month by early 2027.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 1600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.openai.com\/static-rsc-4\/pvo3qkmBnCMF6EDGaAYML9AiWd1DhxTXb9g5D0MnAPmlSGTnqFlXMdRpetRHI9w-dt1yfy2VrH5WdVBv2leXxsS4MZQtneSwEnAVAcRT-XJM8KAtdWu7HPPu5C-He3AUvpvxsm8Im3KRlomQT0A9ldep-2sdMKj2Ng5Sdnv_i4V81Ri_iNdH1AqWAX9nvNtt?purpose=fullsize\" alt=\"Boeing technicians working on the fuselage of a 737 MAX aircraft during final assembly\" width=\"1600\" height=\"900\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Boeing says the additional assembly line will support plans to increase 737 MAX production in the coming months \u00a9 Maurice King<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Supporting Boeing\u2019s long-term recovery<\/h2>\n<p>The expansion forms part of Boeing\u2019s wider recovery strategy after years of production disruptions, supply chain challenges and heightened regulatory oversight.<\/p>\n<p>Following the Alaska Airlines 737 MAX 9 <a href=\"https:\/\/travelradar.aero\/ntsb-faults-boeing-for-alaska-airlines-incident-involving-its-boeing-737-max-9-airplane\/\">door plug blowout<\/a> in January 2024, the FAA imposed limits on Boeing\u2019s production increases until the manufacturer demonstrated improvements to its quality control processes. Since then, Boeing has worked closely with regulators as it gradually increases output.<\/p>\n<p>The Everett site, recognised as the world\u2019s largest building by volume, offered <a href=\"https:\/\/travelradar.aero\/boeing-prepares-to-ramp-up-737-max-production-in-recovery-push\/\">Boeing<\/a> significant available factory space following the end of 747 production and the relocation of 787 Dreamliner final assembly to South Carolina. Converting part of the facility into a 737 MAX production line allows the company to make greater use of its existing manufacturing footprint while preparing for future demand.<\/p>\n<p>Boeing is also evaluating whether production could eventually increase to 70 aircraft per month, which would represent the highest output rate in the 737 programme\u2019s history as the manufacturer looks to narrow the gap with rival Airbus in the single-aisle market.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What do you think about Boeing\u2019s latest production milestone?
