{"id":35657,"date":"2025-01-18T23:32:48","date_gmt":"2025-01-18T23:32:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peraltafinancing.com\/recipes\/category-a-b\/beer\/beer-podcast-launches-gimme-some-beer-in-popular-sheffield-pub\/"},"modified":"2025-01-18T23:32:48","modified_gmt":"2025-01-18T23:32:48","slug":"beer-podcast-launches-gimme-some-beer-in-popular-sheffield-pub","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=35657","title":{"rendered":"Beer podcast launches GIMME SOME beer in popular Sheffield pub"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><b>Beer enthusiasts from across the UK braved chilly weather to attend an exciting beer launch event at the Commercial Pub in Chapeltown on Friday, January 10.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The Ale &amp; Audio podcast, recorded in a cosy 6\u00d78 pub shed in Chapeltown, Sheffield\u00a0unveiled their first-ever podcast beer, brewed by Glasgow\u2019s Overtone Brewing.<\/p>\n<p>After keeping the beer name under wraps for six weeks, it was finally revealed: GIMME SOME, inspired by the iconic 1977 disco hit by Brendon (originally recorded by Jimmy \u201cBo\u201d Horne).<\/p>\n<p>The event drew local listeners and supporters, as well as attendees who travelled from as far as Telford, Newcastle, Leicester, and Nottingham. Among the crowd was Pints of Sheffield, the city\u2019s online beer and pub guide, known for organizing events like the Abbeydale Road Beer Festival.<\/p>\n<p>The Commercial Pub holds special significance for podcast host and Beer Writers Guild member Jimbo, as it\u2019s his local spot, which he frequently praises on the podcast. Last year, it was also voted the Sheffield Star\u2019s readers\u2019 favourite pub. Jimbo has even hosted international visitors, including listeners from America, treating them to the pub\u2019s legendary chip butties.<\/p>\n<p>Paul Harrison from the Commercial Pub said: \u201cIt was a fantastic event with a great turnout. Given the challenges the hospitality industry has faced, it was wonderful to see a pub full of like-minded people enjoying fantastic beer at the start of the year. A big thank you to Ale &amp; Audio, Michael, Overtone Brewing, and everyone who supported the event.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Michael from the Ale &amp; Audio podcast added, \u201cWe knew the beer would be great, but it\u2019s even better than we imagined. Overtone Brewing has done an amazing job, and we\u2019re grateful to the Commercial Pub for being such excellent hosts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>GIMME SOME is a 6.5% Triple Dry Hopped IPA, soft and juicy with tropical notes of mango and peach.
