I\u2019ve always enjoyed the Fourth of July.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

I grew up in Montana where my hometown started its celebration with a parade on the second of July. I remember standing along the parade route while people on floats threw candy to us kids.<\/span><\/p>\n

My mother\u2019s family would gather for a picnic on the Fourth.\u00a0 There would be salads that were only served on special occasions.\u00a0 My Grandmother would be at the center of the swirling mass of aunts, uncles and cousins.<\/span><\/p>\n

Later there would be a rodeo.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Sometimes we went to the rodeo and other times we didn\u2019t.\u00a0 However, we\u2019d always<\/em> watch the sky for the fireworks that were shot off after the rodeo finished.\u00a0 \u00a0The beautiful explosions were so big that they could be seen from almost the entire town.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A\u00a0 lot of time has passed since those days. Despite that, some things remain the same.<\/p>\n

The Man of the House (TMOTH) and I usually celebrate the Fourth by grilling hamburgers.\u00a0 TMOTH loves to make large, pub-style burgers and I contribute by making the hamburger buns.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

After we\u2019ve eaten, we sit on the deck and watch the neighbors\u2019 fireworks.<\/p>\n

For years we\u2019ve had pizza night once a month.\u00a0 However, we also have it for special occasions.\u00a0 One year we even had pizza for Christmas!<\/p>\n

The Man of The House makes the pizza dough in the bread machine. \u00a0Any more than once a month and we wouldn\u2019t fit through the front door.\u00a0 If we had it any less, we\u2019d have horrific pizza withdrawal symptoms.<\/p>\n
