Their range is split across three tiers: Chronograph, Pendulum, and Grandfather. Broadly reflecting the age and character of each release. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today we\u2019re looking at two of their bottlings: the Auchroisk, a 23-year-old Speyside, and the Jura, a 15-year-old matured in an Oloroso sherry cask from the Pendulum range.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Auchroisk is a Speyside Distillery in Mulben, Banffshire, owned by Diageo. This distillery is relatively young, only founded in 1974. Building had started 2 years earlier in 1972.\u00a0 Auchroisk Single Malt is a very important part of the J&amp;B Blended Whisky. The only official bottling that Auchroisk released is the The Flora &amp; Fauna 10 Year Old Single Malt.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let\u2019s now have a taste.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><strong>Auchroisk Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky \u2013 Cask Number 2900667, Distilled 22\/09\/2012, Matured in Madeira Cask, 23 Year old, 54.8% abv. Bottled by One Cask at a Time<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Colour<\/strong>\u2026Rich Copper.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Nose<\/strong>\u2026Elegant and sweet, vanilla is very present, with a plethora of orchard fruits. Some gentle and mild spice notes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Taste<\/strong>\u2026This feeling of elegance continues, great mouth feel, vanilla and honey merge together, a touch of liquorice lingers for a little while, more spice notes and a wee puff of white pepper, a little oakiness.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Finish<\/strong>\u2026Medium to long, my palate is full of spice and vanilla, oak is still there, apples and pears are floating about.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is quite a grand single cask dram, really enjoyed this tasting. I found this dram to be quite complex at times and you take the next sip and it feels that it has settled down to be just an easy drinking dram.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now for the Jura. Owned by Whyte and Mackay. It is a Highland Whisky. Located a stone\u2019s throw from the Whisky Island of Islay, check out their website ( <a href=\"http:\/\/jurawhisky.com\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"follow external noopener noreferrer\">jurawhisky.com<\/a> ). Jura Whisky has a great reputation among whisky lovers and is up there in The Whisky Boys top 10.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Isle of Jura \u2013 15 Year Old, Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky, Oloroso Matured, Single Cask, 54.4%\u00a0 abv.<\/strong>  <strong>From the Pendulum Range.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Colour<\/strong>\u2026Walnut<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Nose<\/strong>\u2026Quite complex, clean refreshing sweetness, gentle warm spices, distant beach BBQ.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Taste<\/strong>\u2026Ultra smooth, beach pebbles and sea-air freshness, sawn oak, crushed mixed nuts, runny chocolate over plump raisins, full bodied and sweet, this dram only needs a teardrop of water if any.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Finish<\/strong>\u2026Long and elegant, the spice and the BBQ smoke lingers well.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yes, another very fine dram. It would grace and Whisky tasting event.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Retailing at \u00a3150.00, which sounds about right for a single cask Jura.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/onecaskatatime.com\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"follow external noopener noreferrer\">One Cask at a Time<\/a><\/strong> is a Scottish independent bottler. They have a large collection of single cask Whiskies from across Scotland and are all bottled at cask strength.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Head of brand development at One Cask at a Time,<strong><em> Russell Bradley,<\/em><\/strong> commented: \u201cOnly casks of exceptional quality have been chosen for bottling under the One Cask at a Time label.
