Introducing StopOCD: Accessible Online Treatment for OCD<\/strong><\/p>\n

Many people living with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) struggle for years before accessing appropriate care. Cost, stigma, limited availability of specialized providers, and long waitlists can make treatment difficult to access, often leaving individuals feeling overwhelmed and alone.<\/p>\n

StopOCD is an online, therapist-supported program designed to help individuals better understand and manage OCD using evidence-based approaches, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard treatment for OCD.<\/p>\n

The program combines practical tools, progress tracking, self-assessments, self-guided learning modules, and interactive exercises with unlimited therapist messaging support. Members can message their therapist as often as needed, with therapists responding within 24 hours on weekdays. The StopOCD website also offers free educational resources for the broader community, including live webinars and blogs focused on OCD and recovery.<\/p>\n

Designed to be flexible and accessible, StopOCD allows individuals to access support anytime, from anywhere, and work through the program at their own pace while receiving ongoing professional guidance and encouragement.<\/p>\n

To help reduce barriers to treatment, StopOCD also offers reduced-cost options and financial aid for individuals who might not otherwise be able to access specialized care.<\/p>\n

StopOCD is excited to announce that we will be presenting at the 2026 Annual OCD Conference alongside Dr. Suzanne Mouton-Odum and Dr. Ruth Golomb.<\/p>\n

StopOCD is part of Helping Minds, the organization behind SkinPick and TrichStop, online programs that support individuals affected by skin-picking disorder and hair-pulling disorder.<\/p>\n

Our workshop will focus on helping parents better understand body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs), including hair-pulling disorder (trichotillomania) and skin-picking disorder (excoriation disorder), which often begin in childhood and can leave both children and their families feeling overwhelmed, isolated, and misunderstood.<\/p>\n

This compassionate session will explore ways parents and caregivers can better understand BFRBs, reduce shame and conflict, and support their child with greater empathy and connection. The discussion will combine clinical expertise with lived experience, including Helping Minds team member Meryl, who will share her personal experience as the parent of children with BFRBs.<\/p>\n
