Inspired by Parkers Estate Merlot 2023, California: We’re playing pinball in a lively arcade, late one Sunday afternoon.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

Specs:<\/span> This merlot is finished at 13.5% alcohol and first sampled three years from vintage date, in July, 2026.<\/p>\n

In the glass:<\/span> Vivid magenta red with brick elements.<\/p>\n

On the nose:<\/span> Poured at room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows bright violet streaks with fresh blackberry. <\/p>\n

On the palate:<\/span>   A soft, generic, fruity entry that glides along your tongue into your cheeks for a brief but clean close. <\/p>\n

In summary:<\/span> Overall, just touches three stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale<\/a>, earning a best value at its attractive price point.<\/p>\n

Following the black licorice test:<\/span>   Amps up a sweetened, bolder entry – soft, friendly but remaining generic in style.<\/p>\n

Inspired by Parkers Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2024, California: Heading out for an evening to watch a hockey match in town – gonna be a chilly game on a chilly evening!<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

Specs:<\/span> This cabernet sauvignon is finished at 13.5% alcohol and first sampled two years from vintage date, in July, 2026.<\/p>\n

In the glass:<\/span> Deep red and violet tones. <\/p>\n

On the nose:<\/span> Poured at room temperature and swirled vigorously, violets and iron filings come through up into the nose. <\/p>\n

On the palate:<\/span>  A soft entry, but with a melange of bright red and purple muddled fruits.  The sip lingers with ripe currants and ripe blackberry, then settling with little acid bite at the edges for a modest and clean finish. <\/p>\n

In summary:<\/span> Overall, rates three stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale<\/a> and is a solid best value.<\/p>\n

Following the black licorice test:<\/span>  Now a bold, sweet entry, with all the fruit and layers from before.  Almost drives a plus on top of the third star!<\/p>\n
