The multi-layered textures here are wonderfully subtle, with each and every listen an absolute joy. Very highly recommended for any fan of dark ambient. This hymn-like release was created using notes from a traditional chant, expertly blended with field recordings taken during a ritual, among trees and ancient tombs. The end result is jaw-droppingly good, with an incredible, almost religious, ambiance that transports the listener to another realm. The music here is wonderful dark ambient with a sci-fi inspired synth edge, creating one of those soundtracks that you have on repeat play \u2013 because it\u2019s just so damn good. Highly recommended for fans of dark ambient with subtle synth work, and sci-fi soundscapes. Every now and then, an album comes along that simply takes your breath away \u2013 <strong><em>Soft Blue<\/em><\/strong> by Iranian <strong><em>Farshad Akbari<\/em><\/strong> is one of those albums. Composed during the days of war and blackout in Iran, this release \u201c<em>\u2026 is the sound of suspended time: afternoons with no news, no internet, and a sky that remained silently blue\u2026<\/em>\u201c. The music here is subtle, understated, and perfect for some introspection and evaluation of yourself and the world around us. This is a wonderful album of multi-layered, complex tracks, each offering something a little different, but all working together to create a rewarding listening experience \u2013 with lush ambient soundscapes, background murmurings, and slow evolving drones.\u00a0This re-issue has been released in the memory of <strong>Susumu Yokota<\/strong>, and in association with the Yokota family. Very highly recommended.
