{"id":351602,"date":"2025-12-19T15:56:32","date_gmt":"2025-12-19T15:56:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peraltafinancing.com\/uncategorized\/help-us-rebalance-the-lib-dems-liberal-voice-for-women\/"},"modified":"2025-12-19T15:56:32","modified_gmt":"2025-12-19T15:56:32","slug":"help-us-rebalance-the-lib-dems-liberal-voice-for-women","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=351602","title":{"rendered":"Help us Rebalance the Lib Dems! \u2014 Liberal Voice for Women"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.squarespace-cdn.com\/content\/v1\/5fac534899168821c5a710fe\/1761495401324-5EDNKHG2DYUD29POAJM2\/FINALArtboard+1%284%29.png?format=1500w\" \/><\/p>\n<div data-sqsp-text-block-content=\"\">\n<h3 style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Voting opens in the triennial Federal Elections at 1pm on Tuesday 28th October.<\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\"><strong>Liberal Voice for Women is standing a strong slate of candidates who will be focused on responsible governance, sound policy, and inclusive, respectful engagement with members.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">We have made significant strides in recent years, in particular in creating space for open discussion on issues concerning sex and gender, and helping the Party stay on the right side of the law when it comes to its internal policies and practices.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\"><strong>Our presence at Federal Council and Conference Committee meetings has allowed us to build key relationships and encourage different perspectives.<\/strong> We have also been fortunate to engage with many members, councillors and MPs at our stands at Party Conferences. We are grateful for the many words of support and encouragement we have received there.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">However, there is a lot of work still to do. <strong>The Party still has policies that need to be updated in line with emerging evidence and ethical consensus.<\/strong> For this to happen we need a cultural reset within the Party: a Federal Board, a Conference Committee and a Policy Committee that are committed to free, open and civil debate and to learning from mistakes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">As we look ahead to the next set of local elections, and the next general election, our goal is to ensure that the Liberal Democrats are in the strongest possible position to take on Reform. <strong>We believe our candidates will help achieve that by reinforcing liberal, evidence-based principles, by holding moderate and defensible positions on sex and gender and bringing our wider, worldly experience to the table.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">All Liberal Democrats members can vote in the Federal Elections. Coucillors can also vote for their councillor rep elections as well as the directly elected ones. Our candidates for both are listed below.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Every vote really will count &#8211; please be sure to use it!<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\"><strong>NB: Voting will run for two weeks, ending on Tuesday 11 November.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align:center;white-space:pre-wrap;\"><strong>Liberal Voice
