It’s official: 123 Reg is 25 this year! We’re celebrating a quarter of a century of keeping it simple online.

Since 2000, we’ve supported businesses like yours to get online and run your business your way. We couldn’t have done it without you — and we’re not stopping here. There’s plenty more to come.

A lot has changed since we first started out, but our focus hasn’t. We’ve always believed getting online should be simple, affordable, and built around what real people need. Here’s to the next 25 years of doing just that.

""

Our mission from day one

In the early days of the web, getting online wasn’t easy. You’d wait for the dial-up to connect, cross your fingers, and hope everything held together long enough to share what you’d made.

A domain is where every website begins — and it’s what we’ve been helping people with from the very start. From there, we’ve always believed the journey should be straightforward, whether that’s a simple personal site or a proper online business.

We knew that to make this truly easy for anyone, the tools had to work without fuss. So we built them, giving anyone the chance to claim their own spot on the web and share it with the world.

Our goal has always been simple: to help anyone bring their ideas online. No jargon. No tech degree necessary. Just clear tools and a helping hand when you need it. Because why complicate what should be simple?

Domain, hosting, email — as easy as one, two, three. We’ve always believed it should be easy to get started, and even easier to keep going. No hidden costs. No surprises. Good value, honest pricing, and support that actually supports you.

While the internet has changed a lot, some things haven’t. People still want to bring their ideas to life online. They still want tools that just work. That’s been our focus from day one. And it’s what we’re still doing today.

25 Years On – A look back

The early days

123 Reg began in 2000, just as the internet was becoming part of everyday life and more people wanted their own corner of the web. Our founders had already built experience with domains through Webfusion, and they set out to make getting a domain easier for everyone in the UK.

Growing up fast

By 2004, 123 Reg had grown quickly to become the UK’s leading domain registrar. More people and businesses were joining every day, and our focus was clear: helping the many, not the few, to get online without hassle.

The milestones soon followed — 2 million domains registered by 2009, 3 million by 2012 — and with each step we kept our British roots and UK-based support at the heart of the service.

Recognition along the way

Recognition came too, with awards from Start Your Business and TechRadar in the mid-2010s marking us as a trusted name in domains and hosting. Alongside these, the bigger achievement has always been the same: helping our customers get online.

Then and now

25 years in a logo

Over the past 25 years, our logo has evolved alongside the web itself.

From the bold colours and blocky shapes of the early days to today’s clean, modern design, each version tells a story. Through every update, one thing has stayed the same: simplicity at its heart. It’s as easy as one, two…

""

A look back at our homepage

In the early 2000s our homepage looked… very of its time! Big buttons, bright colours and layout choices that made sense to someone, probably.

Like the web overall, our site’s look has changed a lot since then — but the goal has never shifted.

Meet our hero

""

She’s a driven, hands-on business owner who’s not afraid to roll up her sleeves.

From day one, we’ve built our tools with her in mind: simple, affordable, and designed to do exactly what they promise. She’s after what she needs to succeed online — no extras, no gimmicks, and without breaking the bank.

We keep things easy so she can focus on what matters most: running her business.

Celebrating our community
