The devastating event. which unfolded at Archer Park<\/a>. a site adjacent to the iconic Bondi beach, has been placed with a Sydney terror attack by the New South Wales (NSW) Police Counter-Terrorism Command. This classification underscores the severity and the targeted, hateful crime against the city\u2019s Jewish community.<\/p>\n

The Attack Unfolds: Mayhem at Chanukah by the Sea<\/strong><\/p>\n

The horrific mass shooting of Sydney Terror Attack began at approximately 6:47 PM (AEDT) during the Chanukah by the Sea event. Hundreds of families, children, and community elders were gathered to light the first candle of the Menorah. Witnesses scenes of horrific chaos as two men, wearing a dark tactical gear, suddenly opened fire on public. The rapid targeted shooting forced a desperate, panicked evacuation, with many attendees diving for cover or attempting to shield their loved ones.<\/p>\n

What should have been a night of peace and joy was shattered by a horrifying, evil attack, said NSW Premier Chris Minns, addressing the media at a somber press conference late Sunday night. He confirmed that the Sydney Terror Attack was designed to target the resident Jewish community, signalling a deeply disturbing phase of domestic terrorism.<\/p>\n

A Jewish Community in Mourning:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The confirmed death of 12 people includes a highly decorated police officer and one of the alleged Pakistani national terrorist attacker at Sydney Terror Attack. The toll is expected to rise as there are 29 severely injured people who are currently receiving emergency medical care across major Sydney hospitals, including St Vincent\u2019s, Royal Prince Alfred, and Westmead Hospital. Eyewitness accounts and unverified mobile phone footage captured one selfless act, a brave bystander, identified only as 45 yers old Nathan, who used a park bench to successfully tackle and quickly disarm one of the gunmen, an action credited by emergency responders with interrupting the violence and potentially saving dozens of lives. The bravery of the responding NSW Police officers was also acclaimed. especially the rapid engagement that resulted in the neutralization of one perpetrator.<\/p>\n

Security Forces Widen the Net as IED also discovered at the site:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The police operation remains ongoing, with a significant exclusion zone stretching from Campbell Parade to surrounding streets. NSW Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon revealed critical findings that confirmed the terror activities, as the incident place also discovered several improvised explosive devices (IEDs) within a vehicle linked to the deceased offender.<\/p>\n

This finding suggests a terror plot intended to set a far greater level of destruction as IED\u2019s and multiple weapons used in the attack by the attackers including a Pakistani National is one of the attacker. Furthermore, Commissioner Lanyon confirmed that one of the perpetrators was from the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO). The Counter-Terrorism Command is now running a comprehensive investigation to determine if the men acted alone or if they were part of a larger domestic active terrorist group, including actively searching for a potential third attacker mentioned in early police reports.<\/p>\n
