Curious, she leaned in and realized the fine print wasn’t just filler. It outlined something simple, but useful, that many customers might have missed during a rushed visit.

The detail hidden in plain sight

Source: Pixabay
The sentence explained that customers may swap Texas toast, coleslaw, or Cane’s sauce for French fries. That option reshaped how Lambert viewed her usual order.

A win for fry enthusiasts

Source: Shutterstock
Lambert shared that she usually throws out the toast and slaw she doesn’t enjoy, while her daughter could happily live on fries. Now that she knew the rule, she walked away with two orders of fries she actually wanted.

A discovery that raised new questions

Source: Shutterstock
After posting her video, Lambert wondered if she had uncovered a secret trick or simply overlooked something most people already knew. Her comment section answered quickly.

Viewers had plenty to say

Source: Shutterstock
The clip gathered thousands of views, and many commenters claimed the substitution option was old news. Some said they regularly swap sides, while others teased her for missing the detail.

Creative combinations shared by fans

Source: Shutterstock
Plenty of people revealed their own variations, like trading coleslaw for an extra piece of toast or building a meal loaded with fries and sauces. Their responses showed just how customizable the menu can be.

How to request a substitution

Source: Pixabay
If you want to make a change, simply ask when placing your order at the drive-thru or counter. Some employees even mention the option before you finish speaking, depending on the location.

Making custom combos through the app

Source: Shutterstock
For those who prefer to order digitally, the same substitutions are available on the restaurant’s app, giving customers an easy way to pick the sides they actually prefer.

Final takeaway

Source: Shutterstock
Lambert’s experience became a friendly reminder that small print can be surprisingly helpful. A quick look can improve your order, cut down on waste, and leave you with exactly what you came for: food you’ll enjoy from the first bite to the last.
