Dear friends,

As the year draws to a close, I want to take a moment to thank you for being a vital part of the Hero Dogs family. Your support has changed lives, restored independence, and brought hope to those who need it most.

Nonprofits across the country are facing major challenges: costs are rising, access to funding is decreasing, and donor giving levels have dropped significantly in the past year. Hero Dogs is feeling this as we adjust to the elimination of the only federal grant program available for service dog providers for veterans, the Wounded Warrior Service Dog Program. At the same time, the number of veterans, first responders, communities, and facilities reaching out to Hero Dogs for help continues to grow.

It costs approximately $40,000 to raise, train, and place just one Hero Dog—and yet, thanks to donors like you, we provide them completely free of charge.

But today, that commitment is harder to keep.

We need your support now more than ever. A gift of any size can make a world of difference and ensures that Hero Dogs can continue to train, support, and place these extraordinary dogs where they make the greatest difference: in the lives of those who have sacrificed so much.

Please consider making a tax-deductible end-of-year gift by visiting hero-dogs.org/donate or by mailing a check to Hero Dogs, Inc. at P. O. Box 64, Brookeville, MD 20833.

Wishing you a safe, warm, and happy holiday season!

Nikki Charles P.S. Combined gifts of $250 or more in 2025 will get you the highly coveted 2026 Hero Dogs wall calendar!

![""]("https://www.hero-dogs.org/wp-content/uploads/Nikki-signature.jpg")
