I talk about it a lot, don\u2019t I?  <\/p>\n<p>In my defense, there\u2019s been a lot of it about.  My last but one entry talked about two peoples\u2019 deaths \u2013 David and Lyra.  Two different people with two different \u2013 and two violent \u2013 deaths.  <\/p>\n<p>So forgive me, it\u2019s been on my mind.  It\u2019s always on my mind, really.  I\u2019ve <a href=\"https:\/\/thesecretlifeofamanicdepressive.wordpress.com\/2015\/08\/10\/therapy-tales-part-1-so-youre-terrified-of-death\/\">talked at length in this blog about my death anxiety<\/a> \u2013 thanatophobia for the Greeks out there \u2013 and its vampiric impact on my life.  I\u2019ve been in therapy for it before, but it was the wham-bam-thank-you-mam CBT, which did nothing to address the elephant in the room.  Or, in Phillip Larkin-speak, the wardrobe. <\/p>\n<p>The elephant is trauma.  It\u2019s terror.  It\u2019s checking for breath with a mirror when you\u2019re 6.  It\u2019s shameful grief, collective grief, lost grief and grieving. It\u2019s feeling it <em>is <\/em>shameful to grieve.
