You don\u2019t want to rely on lip-syncing to audio clips you don\u2019t even like.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"background-color: #faebdc;\">Instead, choose music and sounds that actually feel on-brand.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For me, that\u2019s cozy, acoustic vibes (Bon Iver, Alexi Murdoch\u2026 you get the picture).<\/p>\n<p>When your content matches your personality instead of chasing trends, you\u2019ll build a more authentic connection.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>3. \u201cNiche down until it hurts.\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>Nope. Hard pass. \u274c<\/p>\n<p>I know niching is the internet\u2019s favorite business advice, but here\u2019s what actually works: build a brand and a vibe, not just a hyper-narrow niche.<\/p>\n<p>Create content you genuinely enjoy making.<\/p>\n<p>Let your niche evolve naturally as you discover what resonates with you and your audience.<\/p>\n<p>I didn\u2019t pick a niche first; I just started posting, testing, and experimenting.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"background-color: #faebdc;\">The niche found me. \ud83e\udd2d<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>4. \u201cFind your niche before you start.\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>This goes hand-in-hand with the advice above.<\/p>\n<p>And again, I say: no way Jos\u00e9.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Start first.<\/li>\n<li>Experiment.<\/li>\n<li>Share what excites you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>See what \u2728sparks\u2728 interest in your audience.<\/p>\n<p>Over time, you\u2019ll refine your focus.<\/p>\n<p>If I had waited to have the \u201cperfect niche,\u201d I\u2019d probably still be waiting.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>5. \u201cYou have to talk to the camera to build trust.\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>Do videos help? Absolutely. Seeing your face and hearing your voice can speed up the know-like-trust factor.<\/p>\n<p>But do you have to? Nope.<\/p>\n<p>The first few years of my business were built entirely on blogging.<\/p>\n<p>I grew a community of over 4,000 email subscribers without showing my face on camera.<\/p>\n<p>If video makes you panic, start with words.<\/p>\n<p>Write blog posts, emails, or carousels.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"background-color: #faebdc;\">Sprinkle in your story, your perspective, your quirks.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>People WILL connect with your content, video or no video.<\/p>\n<p>Confidence grows over time. Start where you\u2019re comfortable.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>6. \u201cThe more pageviews you have, the more money you\u2019ll make.\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>This one sounds logical, but it\u2019s super misleading.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, traffic matters, but pageviews alone don\u2019t equal profit.<\/p>\n<p>Unless you\u2019re running ads on millions of monthly views, pageviews aren\u2019t going to pay the bills.<\/p>\n<p>What actually matters?<a href=\"https:\/\/shedreamsallday.com\/dream-roadmap\"><strong> Your email list.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"background-color: #faebdc;\">Most sales happen in the inbox, not on your blog.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A cozy list of 500 engaged subscribers is more valuable than 50,000 pageviews with zero sign-ups.<\/p>\n<p>My blog gets 50k\u2013100k pageviews a month, but ad revenue maxes out around $1,000.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, my email list generates $7k+ months.<\/p>\n<p>Traffic is just the starting point.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Your goal is always:<\/strong> get people off your blog and onto your list.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>7. \u201cYou need to be everywhere online to succeed.\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>Nope.<\/p>\n<p>This is a one-way ticket to burnout.<\/p>\n<p>Pick one platform. Learn it. Master it.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"background-color: #faebdc;\">Stick with it for at least six months to a year before you move on.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For me, 2025 is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@shedreamsallday\"><strong>YouTube<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s my home base. Sure, I repurpose content for Instagram and my blog, but my energy is hyper-focused.<\/p>\n<p>Especially when you\u2019re starting out, being \u201c<em>everywhere<\/em>\u201d just means being stretched thin.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Be somewhere consistently, that\u2019s what works.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>The Bottom Line<\/h2>\n<p>There\u2019s a lot of advice swirling around the online business world. Some of it\u2019s helpful. Some of it? Not so much.<\/p>\n<h3>Here\u2019s what I want you to take away:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Passive income takes work.<\/li>\n<li>Authenticity beats trends.<\/li>\n<li>Your niche will evolve.<\/li>\n<li>Video is optional.<\/li>\n<li>Pageviews don\u2019t equal profit.<\/li>\n<li>Focus beats being everywhere.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At the end of the day, your business doesn\u2019t have to look like anyone else\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"background-color: #faebdc;\">You get to build it in the cozy, introvert-friendly way that works for you.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So post the content.
