{"id":347647,"date":"2025-12-17T03:00:50","date_gmt":"2025-12-17T03:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peraltafinancing.com\/uncategorized\/assam-congress-takes-fight-to-villages-with-outreach-drive-cm-casts-doubt-on-move\/"},"modified":"2025-12-17T03:00:50","modified_gmt":"2025-12-17T03:00:50","slug":"assam-congress-takes-fight-to-villages-with-outreach-drive-cm-casts-doubt-on-move","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=347647","title":{"rendered":"Assam Congress takes fight to villages with outreach drive; CM casts doubt on move"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><b>Guwahati, Dec 16: <\/b>In line with the Congress\u2019s preparations for the 2026 Assam Assembly elections, the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) will kick off its primary outreach programme, <i><a href=\"https:\/\/assamtribune.com\/guwahati\/assam-congress-to-deepen-mass-connect-leaders-to-spend-nights-in-rural-homes-1597733\">Raijor Padulit Raijor Congress<\/a><\/i>, from December 20.<\/p>\n<p>Announcing the initiative, APCC president Gaurav Gogoi told the press on Tuesday that the drive aims to take the Congress leadership to every village across the state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cImmediately after the conclusion of the Winter Session of Parliament, we have decided to get down to work on the ground,\u201d Gogoi said.<\/p>\n<p>The outreach programme was first announced at a meeting of the Political Affairs Committee (PAC), chaired by Assam in-charge Jitendra Singh, at Rajiv Bhavan on November 12. The initiative is aimed at bridging the gap between politicians and the people.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the drive, the APCC has launched a dedicated website, www.natunaxom.com, inviting the public to send in suggestions to the party.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough the website, we will be able to collect suggestions from people digitally. Suggestions have initially been sought from students to improve the education sector,\u201d Gogoi said.  <\/p>\n<p>The announcement comes two weeks after the <a href=\"https:\/\/assamtribune.com\/aicc-reviews-assam-2026-poll-plan-organisational-reach-zubeen-probe-on-table\">state unit\u2019s top leadership attended a review meeting<\/a> on the 2026 poll preparations with All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi at the AICC headquarters in New Delhi.<\/p>\n<p>Reacting to the development, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed scepticism over the campaign\u2019s credibility, questioning whether it would pose any challenge to the BJP\u2019s election preparations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey will only be able to visit someone\u2019s porch with an invitation. Will the people of Assam invite them, or are they preparing uninvited visits? There is no possibility of people inviting the Congress,\u201d Sarma claimed, while speaking to the press on the sidelines of a beneficiary scheme distribution event at Lumding.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the united Opposition front, <a href=\"https:\/\/assamtribune.com\/assam\/rift-emerges-in-oppn-morcha-after-akhil-gogoi-violates-internal-pact-in-delhi-1598829\">Asom Sonmilito Morcha<\/a>, is preparing a roadmap for the 2026 electoral battle, with a focus on seat-sharing.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing speculation around Opposition unity, Gaurav Gogoi said discussions were being carried out away from the public eye.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOnly after discussions are concluded can anything be officially stated regarding alliances,\u201d he said, adding that the upcoming elections \u201cwill not be easy for the BJP\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Guwahati, Dec 16: In line with the Congress\u2019s preparations for the 2026 Assam Assembly elections, the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) will kick off its primary outreach programme, Raijor Padulit Raijor Congress, from December 20.
