Dear Readers,

You may have noticed Bookshine blog has been a little quiet of late?

Unsurprisingly for someone with a long-term chronic illness, I have been grappling with a bout of ill health and after weeks of chastising myself for the resulting lack of review activity, I have finally decided to (temporarily!) throw in the towel.

In other words, I am clocking off early for Christmas this year to get some proper rest. You will still see a few pre-scheduled book advent bits popping up but I am giving myself a few weeks off from answering emails, posting reviews and catch-ups and so on.

Hopefully that will lead to my return in the New Year, fully-refreshed and ready to continue tackling that pesky TBR backlog and finally get up-to-date!

Anyone who is on my review list will still – 100% guaranteed – get your review. This is simply another delay to my already ridiculously behind schedule. But I am single-minded when it comes to this blog and the reviews WILL all come eventually.

In the meantime, I will of course still be reading without pause and looking forward to sharing my thoughts with you in 2026.

Until then, I wish you all the happiest of Christmases, full of love, laughter and lots of lovely books.

Keep shining, book-friends!

Steph x
