Are you looking for a great family hotel in Reykjavik Iceland with kids? We found a great option at the Hotel Odinsve Reykjavik apartments for our family of five. In this post I share my Hotel Odinsve Reykjavik review and if you should stay there for your trip to Iceland. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Finding a great hotel when traveling with kids is an important part of your travel planning. You want to find a place that meets the needs of your family as well as fits into your family travel budget.<\/p>\n

It is always a bit complicated to travel with a family of 5, especially 2 adults and 3 teens, which made me a bit concerned when planning our accommodations for our trip to Iceland. <\/p>\n

We had planned a 2-night Iceland itinerary<\/a><\/strong> and I was on the search for the perfect hotel that would be within walking distance to all the attractions we wanted to explore and also fit our family comfortably. <\/p>\n

Overview of Hotel Odinsve Reykjavik<\/h2>\n

It is important to know that Hotel Odinsve is actually two locations. There is the Hotel Odinsve and the Hotel Odinsve Apartments (Odinsve Hotel Apartments).<\/p>\n

We stayed at the Odinsve Hotel Apartments<\/a><\/strong>. They are located across from the hotel and on the main shopping street. Both locations are convenient to the local activities and attractions. <\/p>\n

All guests check-in at the Hotel Odinsve and the front desk will assist you with finding your apartment location.<\/p>\n

How to Get From Reykjavik Airport to Hotel Odinsve<\/h3>\n

The two options for getting to Reykjavik city centre is to take a bus from the airport or drive\/rent a car. If you are driving be sure to do your research on where to park as well as directions. <\/p>\n

I recommend booking a shuttle bus from the airport to the centre of Reykjavik and then make the short walk to your hotel. We booked through FlyBus<\/a><\/strong> and it was very easy and well marked so we could get where we need to go. <\/p>\n

Attractions Close to the Hotel Odinsve<\/h3>\n

The Hotel Odinsve is minutes\u2019 walk to the Harpa Concert Hall, Lutheran Hallgrimskirkja Parish Church, City Center, National Museum of Iceland Solfar Sculpture (Stainless-Steel Sun Voyager sculpture), numerous gift shop\u00a0locations, as well as great food options for the whole family.<\/p>\n

If you are hoping to visit the Blue Lagoon you will need to reserve transportation. It is a short drive from Reykjavik but is not within walking distance. <\/p>\n

The Perlan Museum is a kid-friendly attraction we included in our visit and worth checking out. It is about a 25-minute walk so be prepared if you choose to walk it. Uber is also available in the city. <\/p>\n

Hotel Odinsve Apartments<\/h2>\n

The Odinsve hotel is a 4-star hotel that offers rooms and apartments to their guests. <\/p>\n

We stayed in the 2 Bedroom apartment and it was a great choice for our stay in Reykjavik. The rooms have 2 twin beds or they could be pushed together for 1 queen. There was also a pull-out sofa, a private bathroom and family room.<\/p>\n

The apartments offer 10 apartments that come with flat-screen TV, kitchenette with microwave, stove top, and refrigerator. All locations are a short walk to family-friendly attractions. I was really happy that the harbour and popular tourist attractions were within walking distance to the hotel. <\/p>\n

The modern rooms and spacious accommodations made the Odinsve Hotel Apartments an ideal place for our family. Check out Hotel Odinsve Apartment nightly rates.<\/a><\/strong> <\/p>\n

Amenities at the Hotel Odinsve <\/h2>\n

Guests can dine at the on-site restaurant Snaps. Snaps is fine dining and we did not have time in our itinerary to try it. Free wi-fi, a 24 hour business centre, and a safety deposit box is available to guests as well. <\/p>\n

One of the things the hotel does not have is a swimming pool or hot tub. When researching family-friendly hotels I often look for places that have a swimming pool or hot tub but hotels in cities don\u2019t typically have the space for them. There is also not a fitness center at the hotel. <\/p>\n

These were not deal breakers for us. We spent all of our time exploring the city and getting lots of steps in. If these amenities are important to you, this hotel might not be a good choice for your family. <\/p>\n

We arrived early in the morning, before check-in, and were happy to learn the hotel offered luggage storage. Concierge service can assist you with this and direct you with where to go while you wait for your room. <\/p>\n

Hotel Odinsve Reykjavik Review<\/h2>\n

We loved our stay at Odinsve Hotel Apartments. I though it was a great value and great location. The central location and being withing a 10-minute walk to everything we wanted to see made it a perfect place for us.<\/p>\n

We visited Iceland in June<\/a><\/strong> so walking around the city center was easy! The weather was fairly mild for the things we wanted to see and do. <\/p>\n

This was our first visit to Iceland. I had no idea what to expect or where to stay. I was really happy with the location. Once we walked around for half the day we became familiar with the area and it was very easy to navigate. <\/p>\n

The location felt safe too. We had a 3:00am flight and walking to our shuttle stop at that time wasn\u2019t a concern. It helped that there was only 2 hours of night during our June visit!<\/p>\n

The rooms were clean and basic. I think they were pretty standard for what to expect in hotel rooms in Europe. The bedding gave me an \u201cIKEA vibe\u201d but were comfortable and warm. The rooms had blackout curtains so we could sleep even when it was light out. <\/p>\n

I liked having a refrigerator because it allowed us to stop at the local grocery store for snacks and drinks. If we were staying for a longer trip we would have taken advantage of buying groceries to save money. <\/p>\n

The best hotels are the ones you would stay in again. If we ever have the opportunity to visit Reykjav\u00edk again we would definetly stay at the Odinsve Apartments. <\/p>\n
