Having submitted its certification plan to the regulator a few weeks ago, the company is currently working with Delta Air Lines and Embraer to launch its retrofitted concept with the E175 regional jet.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/leehamnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Green-Aero-Taxi.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-48538\" src=\"https:\/\/leehamnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Green-Aero-Taxi.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"298\" height=\"43\"\/><\/a>Although many aerospace sustainability initiatives are focusing on the efficiencies of engine optimisation, SAF, or alternative propulsion, Green Taxi believes \u201cthere is nothing else that can save this [level of fuel reduction] that we can have deployed in under five years.\u201d CEO and founder David Valaer explained, \u201cA jet engine is not designed to run on the ground, where its fuel flow is about 60% at idle.\u201d This additional power on the ground also causes additional wear on the brake components, something he describes as akin to unnecessarily \u201cdriving a car with the gas pedal halfway down.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Valaer appeared at the Sustain Aero Lan Future Aero Festival conference this month in Amsterdam.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"inline\">To read the rest of the article <a href=\"https:\/\/leehamnews.com\/login\/\" class=\"more-link\">Login<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/leehamnews.com\/subscription\/\" class=\"more-link\">Subscribe today.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><!-- END .article -->\n<\/div>\n<p><!-- BEGIN .post-meta --><\/p>\n<p><!-- BEGIN .post-navigation --><\/p>\n<div class=\"post-navigation\">\n<div class=\"previous-post\">\u2190 <a href=\"https:\/\/leehamnews.com\/2025\/12\/12\/bjorns-corner-faster-aircraft-development-part-20-flight-testing\/\" rel=\"prev\">Bjorn\u2019s Corner: Faster aircraft development.
