In a powerful moment that blurred the lines between music, faith, and activism, Nicki Minaj has raised her voice to call global attention to the violence and persecution happening in Nigeria. Her words read like a heartfelt prayer—and a demand for change.

Dear God, release your immediate intervention in this matter. Rescue the hostages & may the peace that surpasses all understanding fall upon their families right now. Lord, we know your power. With faith & thanksgiving in advance, we claim the victory. In the mighty name of JESUS https://t.co/uW7NEckIfd

— Nicki Minaj (@NICKIMINAJ) November 23, 2025

Taking to social media, Minaj shared a deeply spiritual message: “Dear God, release Your immediate intervention in this matter. Rescue the hostages & may the peace that surpasses all understanding fall upon their families right now.” Her post echoes the urgency and faith many feel amid the turmoil, invoking hope, divine power, and communal strength.

It’s not just a plea; it’s a declaration: “With faith & thanksgiving in advance, we claim the victory. In the mighty name of JESUS.”

But Minaj didn’t stop at social media. She brought her message to the United Nations, delivering a powerful speech about the plight of Christians in Nigeria. She warned of a crisis that, she said, should “shake” the UN into action. (The National)

She laid it out clearly: “In Nigeria, Christians are being targeted, driven from their homes and killed. Churches have been burned, families have been torn apart … simply because of how they pray.” (Vanguard News)

Minaj was careful to distance herself from partisan motives. “This isn’t about taking sides or dividing people,” she declared. Instead, she framed it as a matter of humanity: standing up against injustice, regardless of the religious or political dimensions. (Vanguard News)

Her platform, she said, comes from a place of principle. She thanked Donald Trump for pushing the issue into the spotlight and supporting stronger measures to defend persecuted Christians. (Yahoo)

As expected with such a fraught issue, Minaj’s stand has drawn mixed reactions. Some praise her courage and use of influence to highlight suffering. U.S. Ambassador to the UN, Mike Waltz, publicly thanked her for speaking out. (Yahoo News)

But critics—particularly many Nigerians—have pushed back. They argue the situation is far more complex than a simple religious persecution narrative. Some warn against foreign intervention and caution that her statements risk simplifying Nigeria’s deeply multifaceted conflict. (IOL)

What makes this moment powerful is Minaj’s unusual role: she’s not a diplomat or human rights official, but a global music icon. Her involvement underscores how deeply faith and human rights can intersect—and how pop culture voices can amplify urgent global crises.

Her prayer-like post, combined with her UN address, has given a fresh, spiritually grounded energy to calls for international attention and action. It also speaks to something many people feel: a desperate yearning for peace, protection, and divine intervention.
