A recurring theme in this series.

<wow-image id="615014_0aff81d25e6d446c9a2f5d6a79ac3795~mv2.png" class="undefined GAexD" data-image-info="{"containerId":"rwvmf798","alignType":"center","displayMode":"fill","isLQIP":true,"isSEOBot":false,"lqipTransition":"blur","encoding":"AVIF","imageData":{"width":1519,"height":1024,"uri":"615014_0aff81d25e6d446c9a2f5d6a79ac3795~mv2.png","name":"","displayMode":"fill"}}" data-motion-part="BG_IMG rwvmf798" data-bg-effect-name="" data-has-ssr-src="https://www.nerdsoup4u.com/post/true" data-animate-blur="" data-is-responsive="https://www.nerdsoup4u.com/post/true"></wow-image>

<default:svg xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" viewbox="0 0 19 19" class="yKx9b"><default:path d="M15.071 8.371V4.585l-4.355 4.356a.2.2 0 0 1-.283 0l-.374-.374a.2.2 0 0 1 0-.283l4.356-4.355h-3.786a.2.2 0 0 1-.2-.2V3.2c0-.11.09-.2.2-.2H16v5.371a.2.2 0 0 1-.2.2h-.529a.2.2 0 0 1-.2-.2zm-6.5 6.9v.529a.2.2 0 0 1-.2.2H3v-5.371c0-.11.09-.2.2-.2h.529c.11 0 .2.09.2.2v3.786l4.355-4.356a.2.2 0 0 1 .283 0l.374.374a.2.2 0 0 1 0 .283L4.585 15.07h3.786c.11 0 .2.09.2.2z" fill="#000" fill-rule="nonzero"/></default:svg>

Shortly after the warehouse blows up, a paramilitary group (sent by the Karma Project) shows up. Wow.

40: The Death of Jamie Madrox (almost)

Writer – Peter David

Pencils – Valentine De Landro, Marco Santucci

<wow-image id="615014_8f3a76bcf3b241e197cc258c04c3bb23~mv2.webp" class="undefined GAexD" data-image-info="{"containerId":"nyeqd1593","alignType":"center","displayMode":"fill","isLQIP":true,"isSEOBot":false,"lqipTransition":"blur","encoding":"AVIF","imageData":{"width":1000,"height":1535,"uri":"615014_8f3a76bcf3b241e197cc258c04c3bb23~mv2.webp","name":"","displayMode":"fill"}}" data-motion-part="BG_IMG nyeqd1593" data-bg-effect-name="" data-has-ssr-src="https://www.nerdsoup4u.com/post/true" data-animate-blur="" data-is-responsive="https://www.nerdsoup4u.com/post/true"></wow-image>

<default:svg xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" viewbox="0 0 19 19" class="yKx9b"><default:path d="M15.071 8.371V4.585l-4.355 4.356a.2.2 0 0 1-.283 0l-.374-.374a.2.2 0 0 1 0-.283l4.356-4.355h-3.786a.2.2 0 0 1-.2-.2V3.2c0-.11.09-.2.2-.2H16v5.371a.2.2 0 0 1-.2.2h-.529a.2.2 0 0 1-.2-.2zm-6.5 6.9v.529a.2.2 0 0 1-.2.2H3v-5.371c0-.11.09-.2.2-.2h.529c.11 0 .2.09.2.2v3.786l4.355-4.356a.2.2 0 0 1 .283 0l.374.374a.2.2 0 0 1 0 .283L4.585 15.07h3.786c.11 0 .2.09.2.2z" fill="#000" fill-rule="nonzero"/></default:svg>

Weeks (or months) have passed. Also, on top of Layla being back, she’s older and hot now! Packing an even bigger punch. Once again, I need to break the 4th wall and talk about how this impacted me. I liked the character of Layla Miller. A lot. But I had never really heard anything about her so I assumed that she was just written off and we would never see her again. I should have given Peter David more respect. It also immediately reminded me that passing comment made by Layla many issues ago saying that one day they would get married. That didn’t seem credible, but now she’s here as an adult and suddenly anything is possible.
