The water is a minute\u2019s walk, as are some of Udaipur\u2019s famous cafes, rooftops and sunset spots. A picturesque hotel that unveils itself slowly, through lovingly decorated corners and hidden nooks coming to life through secret gardens, rooftop pools and glittering views of Udaipur. The hotel\u2019s white facade gives nothing away, its magic slowly coming to life as one walks through this property. The devil is in the details at Udai Kothi, with every part of the hotel oozing creativity, rooted in Rajasthani influences, a precious nod to its history.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stumblingarounddelhi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/UK2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"819\" height=\"1024\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stumblingarounddelhi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/UK2-819x1024.png\" alt=\"Udaipur's Udai Kothi - Rooftop Pool\" class=\"wp-image-7788\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.stumblingarounddelhi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/UK2-819x1024.png 819w, http:\/\/www.stumblingarounddelhi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/UK2-240x300.png 240w, http:\/\/www.stumblingarounddelhi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/UK2-768x960.png 768w, http:\/\/www.stumblingarounddelhi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/UK2-1229x1536.png 1229w, http:\/\/www.stumblingarounddelhi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/UK2-1639x2048.png 1639w, http:\/\/www.stumblingarounddelhi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/UK2.png 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 819px) 100vw, 819px\"\/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Rooftop Pool at Udai Kothi<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In choosing a boutique hotel, one also experiences character and local flavour through its architecture \u2013 but also through bedroom upholstery that proudly flaunts Indian block prints, lobbies with history framed on the walls and the small bells and whistles that make a hotel stay feel like a <em>haveli <\/em>stay. The most endearing part of this property are the two rooftop pools, one of which has a stunning chandelier hanging over the pool, creating a mix of cultures that also makes for a perfect Instagram moment.<\/p>\n<p> Above the rooftop pools, is the hotel\u2019s \u2013 and Udaipur\u2019s \u2013 famous rooftop bar, Baro Masi. Baro Masi, in Mewari (the local dialect) means 12 months. True to its name, this cocktail and tapas bar is beautiful all 12 months of the year, for it looks over Lake Pichola and offers a panoramic view of Udaipur city. In the evenings it\u2019s a glittering sea of lights, best enjoyed at the bar\u2019s upper deck. The cocktails (I can vouch for every one of their Gin cocktails) are as outstanding as the view. If it\u2019s a candle light dinner you\u2019re in the mood for, or an upscale cocktail vibe, I recommend swinging by for an experience you\u2019ll remember. The bar area at Baro Masi also boasts of a cool feature that\u2019s as unique as it is unexpected. The floor is made of glass and located directly above the pool that\u2019s on the floor below it, giving the illusion you\u2019re walking over the pool. <\/p>\n<p>Expect a boutique hotel stay and you\u2019ll find yourself enjoying the location, interiors and experience at Udai Kothi. They also offer a luxury night boat ride and are one of the few hotels that have a license to operate on the water at night. It\u2019s an experience I highly recommend and is bookable through the hotel reception.
