Twenty-one Republicans broke ranks and joined all 10 Democrats, resulting in a 31-19 vote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRepublicans in the Indiana State Senate, who voted against a Majority in the U.S. House of Representatives, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/trumpstruth.org\/statuses\/34215\">should be ashamed<\/a> of themselves,\u201d Trump wrote on Truth Social around 1:00 a.m. on Saturday. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHeaded by a total loser named Rod Bray, every one of these people should be \u2018primaried,\u2019\u201d he added. \u201cAnd I will be there to help! Indiana, which I won big, is the only state in the Union to do this!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bray, the state Senate President pro tempore, had previously warned that there was <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/elections\/trump-gop-redistricting-push-indiana-backfired-rcna247832\">not enough support<\/a> for the gerrymandering measure. This came even though Trump and his allies had spent months pressuring Indiana Republicans to pass the bill. No, he is not a lame duck. He\u2019s the most powerful president of this generation and many others. We have a lot more work to do together. The outcome in Indiana is inconsequential to that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Some state lawmakers indicated that Trump\u2019s pressure campaign \u2014 and the national attention it garnered \u2014 had backfired. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou have to know Hoosiers,\u201d Republican state Sen. Sue Glick told <em>NBC News<\/em> after voting against the gerrymandering bill. \u201cWe can\u2019t be bullied, we don\u2019t like it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Indiana vote comes after several other states \u2014 including Texas and California \u2014 moved to undertake controversial mid-decade redistricting efforts ahead of the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/world\/americas\/us-politics\/susie-wiles-trump-midterms-b2881050.html\">2026 midterms<\/a>.
