Family time\u2026 what is the first thing that pops into your
\nhead when you see those words? For me, it means special time just Shadrach,
\nLogan, and I enjoying each other\u2019s company uninterrupted. If I\u2019m being honest,
\nfinding uninterrupted family time seems to be getting harder and harder. Life
\nseems to be good at throwing distractions in our path, and before I know it,
\nit\u2019s been months, and we haven\u2019t spent any quality time together. <\/p>\n

Each year we set a family goal of spending one weekend a
\nmonth getting out of the house and having quality time together. I must admit
\nthat this past year we have failed at this! It has not happened monthly.
\nHowever, we were able to get in a weekend away this fall to one of our favorite
\ncities! <\/p>\n

It turned out to be the ultimate family weekend in
\nCincinnati, and I have to say I loved every minute of it! We live two hours
\naway, which to me, is the perfect distance for a quick getaway. One of my rules
\nfor a weekend trip is that it must be three hours or less drive because I don\u2019t
\nwant to spend all weekend in the car. We love it when there is a little bit of
\na road trip involved because, hello, road trip snacks! But really, when you
\nhave younger children, shorter road trips are just more enjoyable. So,
\nCincinnati meets this requirement for us, plus it\u2019s an awesome place to visit
\nas a family! <\/p>\n

There is so much to do and see! More than you can fit into a weekend but on this adventure, we packed in as much as we could, and I\u2019m so excited to share it all with you! Plus, if you make it to the end, there will be a printable itinerary with all the details, so you can plan your own family getaway. <\/p>\n

Day 1<\/h2>\n

After getting up and out the door (later than planned) we made it into Cincinnati around lunchtime. So, we decided before heading to any fun activities we needed to stop and get some lunch. I don\u2019t know about you guys, but Shadrach gets hangry, and it makes a trip more enjoyable for everyone if we keep him fed. That leads me to our first stop on our ultimate family weekend. <\/p>\n
