Employees may use up to three consecutive days or distribute the five days separately throughout the year. The leave cannot be carried over to the next year and cannot be converted to cash. It is completely separate from vacation and sick leave.<\/p>\n
Application Process<\/h2>\n
Requests follow the same procedure as other leave types. A supervisor\u2019s recommendation and approval from the agency head are required. Filing must be done at least five days ahead, except in emergencies, when employees may file upon returning to work.<\/p>\n
