Here at We \u2764 Health Literacy Headquarters<\/a>, we\u2019re big fans of both preventive health care and preventing the spread of COVID-19. So these days, dear readers, we really \u2764 telehealth. According to CDC, 4 in 10 U.S. adults have avoided health care due to COVID-19 concerns<\/a>. That\u2019s, well, concerning! People need routine health care, pandemic or no\u200a\u2014\u200aand telehealth lets them get it with zero anxiety about also<\/em> getting COVID at their\u00a0visit.<\/p>\n

As health communicators, we can teach our audiences about telehealth and encourage them to give it a try. Start with a simple definition for the newbies out there: Telehealth\u200a\u2014\u200asometimes called telemedicine or a virtual visit\u200a\u2014\u200ais basically remote health care. If you\u2019re using a computer, phone, or tablet for a doctor visit, that\u2019s telehealth.<\/p>\n

And while telehealth certainly can\u2019t take the place of all <\/em>in-person visits, it\u2019s a great option for things\u00a0like:<\/p>\n
