This is based on <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/codes.findlaw.com\/ca\/civil-code\/civ-sect-683\/\">Civil Code \u00a7 683<\/a><\/strong>, which requires joint tenancy to be expressly declared in writing<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>Married couples and registered domestic partners in California can hold title as <strong>community property with right of survivorship<\/strong>.
