{"id":336188,"date":"2025-12-09T10:59:49","date_gmt":"2025-12-09T10:59:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peraltafinancing.com\/uncategorized\/russia-plane-crash-horror-as-military-flight-plunges-into-reservoir-with-7-onboard-world-news\/"},"modified":"2025-12-09T10:59:49","modified_gmt":"2025-12-09T10:59:49","slug":"russia-plane-crash-horror-as-military-flight-plunges-into-reservoir-with-7-onboard-world-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=336188","title":{"rendered":"Russia plane crash horror as military flight plunges into reservoir with 7 onboard | World | News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>A hulking Russian An-22 military transport plane crashed today with seven people on board.<\/p>\n<p>The Soviet-era plane came down in Ivanovo region, northeast of Moscow.<\/p>\n<p>Fragments of the stricken aircraft were seen floating in the large Uvod Reservoir, according to reports.<\/p>\n<p>The condition of those on board was not immediately known.<\/p>\n<p>The An-22 was reportedly on a scheduled test flight after repairs.<\/p>\n<p>The emergency services were deployed to the crash site.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The plane was first flown in 1965 and was for a period the largest plane of its kind in the world.<\/p>\n<p>With a NATO reporting name \u2018Cock\u2019, the An-22 has a 187ft length and 210ft wingspan, with four turboprops, each driving contra-rotating propellers.<\/p>\n<p>It is capable of carrying payloads of up to 80 tonnes.<\/p>\n<p>The aircraft was supposed to have been phased out by last year but remains in use by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/vladimir-putin\" data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|AutoLink\">Vladimir Putin<\/a>\u2019s war machine.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Reports said that all seven on board &#8211; five crew and two passengers &#8211; are presumed dead in the catastrophic crash.<\/p>\n<p>Fragments were found in the waters of the Uvod &#8211; or Uvodsky &#8211; reservoir and on land.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe crew did their best to steer the aircraft away from populated areas until the last moment,\u201d reported Mash news outlet.<\/p>\n<p>The plane fell in an uninhabited area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe An-22 broke apart into pieces,\u201d reported Shot news.<\/p>\n<p>The cause of the crash was not initially clear.<\/p>\n<p>The emergency services are working at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>This An-22 Antey was \u201cthe last operational aircraft of this type in the Russian Armed Forces\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The plane was reportedly 51 years old.<\/p>\n<p>The Russian Defence Ministry said that a commission from the country&#8217;s Aerospace Forces was being dispatched to the crash site to establish all the circumstances of the horror.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A hulking Russian An-22 military transport plane crashed today with seven people on board.
