Mason Mount scored Manchester United\u2019s winner against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park at the weekend as he\u2019s starting to get some regular playing time under his belt.<\/p>\n
His signing was a strange one, given the pricetag for a player who was on a free the following summer and the pressing need to strengthen in positions other than his. But Erik ten Hag couldn\u2019t let the opportunity to sign Mount pass him by, having been a fan of the former Chelsea player since he had been loaned out to Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem.<\/p>\n
Mount has spoken about one of his characteristics that impresses his manager, his ability to read and understand the game. He has discussed this in an interview with Inside United.<\/p>\n
\nI always watched the games since I was a kid. I really, really looked into games and I watched games. I like to watch positions, not just the ball. I like to watch how players kind of move in their position and what positions they take up on the pitch. I did that since I was a kid.<\/p>\n
So, yeh, I think I understand the game a lot and, when you\u2019re on the pitch, it can be difficult at times because it\u2019s 100 miles an hour. There is a lot going on. Subs come on into the game or you have a formation change a little bit, so the team that you\u2019re playing against sets up differently than what you are prepared for.<\/p>\n
These are all things that happen in the game and you\u2019ve kind of got to adapt to that. But I always see myself as one that really studies the game and understands, if the opposition changes, how we change and adapt as a team and it\u2019s trying to get that communication across to the rest of the lads.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/section>\n
