Produced by a collective of producers including London Cyr, O Lil Angel, FnZ, and Gyz, the beat is intricate and layered, providing a dynamic backdrop for Drake’s flow. It’s kind of intriguing knowing that the two artist are not seeing eye to eye. But let’s get to the heart of the matter: the lyrics. This isn’t just a catchy summer anthem; it’s a direct address to those who, in Drake’s eyes, showed their true colors during his very public feud with Kendrick Lamar. He wastes no time in calling out the “backstabbers” and those who tried to “play both sides,” questioning their loyalty and lamenting the betrayal of former friends.

The song directly references Kendrick Lamar’s “Pop Out” concert from Juneteenth 2024, a clear indication that while the immediate diss track storm may have settled, the wounds are far from healed. Drake is making it clear that he remembers who was truly in his corner and who wasn’t. It’s a raw display of emotion and a strategic move to define his narrative after a period of intense scrutiny.
Beyond the feuds, “What Did I Miss?” also hints at themes of resilience and reclaiming his position.
