His music reflects personal struggles, ambition, love, and the realities of growing up with limited support, which makes his storytelling relatable to millions.

As he prepares to release his anticipated new single, “DRUNK IN LOVE”, fans and industry players are eager to witness the next phase of his artistic evolution.

Birth & Childhood

Pejar King was born and raised in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, a culturally rich region in the southern part of Nigeria. He grew up in a humble household where life was far from easy, but even as a child he displayed a natural passion for music. Friends and family remember him as a quiet but creative young boy who loved to sing, write lyrics, and imitate the sounds of instruments using household objects.

Growing Up Without Support

Pejar King’s life took a difficult turn at an early age. With no father, no manager, and no financial support, he had to grow through challenges that many upcoming artists only talk about. Life demanded strength and perseverance, and he developed a deep resilience that eventually shaped his character.

He often describes his childhood as a period filled with struggle, loneliness, and self-reliance. Without guidance or backing, he had to hustle alone—learning how to record, produce, mix, and promote his music by himself.

His Late Father – Imo Patrick Effiong

Pejar King’s father, Imo Patrick Effiong, was himself a highlife singer in Akwa Ibom. He had dreams of building a musical legacy and becoming a renowned performer. Unfortunately, he passed away before reaching that dream and before he could witness his son step into the musical world.

His father’s death left a heavy emotional mark on young Samuel, who was still a boy at the time. But instead of giving up, he used his father’s unfulfilled dreams as motivation to push harder in life.

Pejar King often says:

“I carry my father’s dream inside me. He couldn’t finish it, so I will finish it for both of us.”

This deep emotional connection to his father’s legacy continues to influence his music, which often carries themes of hope, resilience, and destiny.

Growing up with limited resources meant that schooling was not always easy, but Pejar King remained determined. He discovered early that music was more than a form of entertainment—it was a path of escape and expression. During his teenage years, he spent hours listening to different genres and was especially inspired by the rise of Afrobeats and Afrofusion artists within Nigeria’s fast-growing music industry.

While many of his age mates focused on conventional careers, Pejar King chose music as his life mission. He began writing songs, performing freestyle sessions, and using every opportunity to improve his vocals and production skills.

“I don’t copy anybody. I do everything my own way.”

This mindset has helped him stand out in a crowded industry.

How It Started (2021)

Pejar King officially entered the music scene in 2021, after spending years preparing himself mentally, spiritually, and creatively. With no label, no sponsor, and no manager, he took full control of his musical journey—writing, recording, producing, and promoting his music independently.

Breakthrough Singles

His first major attention came from these singles:

1. Whine for Me

A smooth Afrobeat track that introduced his vocal versatility and catchy rhythm. It became popular on social platforms and music communities.
