{"id":333843,"date":"2025-12-07T23:28:58","date_gmt":"2025-12-07T23:28:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peraltafinancing.com\/uncategorized\/australia-sounds-alarm-after-chinese-jet-locks-radar-on-japanese-fighters\/"},"modified":"2025-12-07T23:28:58","modified_gmt":"2025-12-07T23:28:58","slug":"australia-sounds-alarm-after-chinese-jet-locks-radar-on-japanese-fighters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=333843","title":{"rendered":"Australia sounds alarm after Chinese jet locks radar on Japanese fighters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"Hy4HP z5wPE\" data-testid=\"body-content\">\n<p>Marles, who is in Japan to inspect shipyards after Australia signed a $10 billion deal to buy 11 warships, expressed his concern about the incident just a week after he revealed the Australian Defence Force was tracking the course of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smh.com.au\/link\/follow-20170101-p5nk0a\">a Chinese flotilla<\/a> heading south in the Philippine Sea.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"wekbt JWiCP tcU5i\"><span class=\"EaK8B\"\/><span class=\"q4Eba\">Loading<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The defence minister is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smh.com.au\/link\/follow-20170101-p5nlhi\">flying to Washington, DC<\/a>, on Monday where he and Foreign Minister Penny Wong will have high-level security talks with US War Secretary Pete Hegseth and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.<\/p>\n<p>The weekend encounters near islands close to territory claimed by both Japan and China are the most serious run-ins between the two militaries in years, and are likely to further escalate tension between the neighbours.<\/p>\n<p>Relations have already soured after Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi warned that Japan could respond to any <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smh.com.au\/link\/follow-20170101-p5ng90\">Chinese military action against Taiwan<\/a> if it also threatened Japan\u2019s security.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"Hy4HP z5wPE\" data-testid=\"body-content\">\n<p>China claims democratically governed Taiwan, and has ramped up military and political pressure against the island whose government rejects Beijing\u2019s territorial claims. Japan said it was monitoring Chinese activity closely.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, Taiwan\u2019s coast guard said it was monitoring drills by three Chinese maritime safety ships on the western side of the Taiwan Strait\u2019s median line, but said the situation in the waters surrounding Taiwan was currently \u201cnormal\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Chinese state media said the search-and-rescue drills were in the central waters of the strait, patrolling \u201chigh-traffic areas, and areas with frequent accidents\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"Hy4HP z5wPE\" data-testid=\"body-content\">\n<p>Taiwan\u2019s coast guard said China was using \u201cmisleading and false wording\u201d about what it was doing, with the aim of harassing Taiwan and carrying out psychological warfare.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"wekbt JWiCP tcU5i\"><span class=\"EaK8B\"\/><span class=\"q4Eba\">Loading<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>China says it alone exercises sovereignty and jurisdiction over the strait, a major trade route for about half the world\u2019s container ships.
