Having carved out a name for themselves in previous projects, Essex trio Mad Morning step forward with something entirely new and entirely uncompromising. Their debut single, Painkiller, out now via Saviour Music, is the first taste of their forthcoming 2026 album, and to say it lands with impact would be an understatement.

Fronted by Rob Jarvis, a musician with more miles on the clock than many realise, having cut his teeth on both sides of the Atlantic, Mad Morning already feels lived-in, like a group who have been waiting for precisely this moment. Rob’s howl of a vocal leads the charge here, equal parts desperate and defiant, while the equally formidable Kevin Hein provides the rhythmic thunder beneath it all. What strikes you first about Painkiller is its velocity, guitars snapping into gear like ignited engines, drums rolling like artillery, the entire arrangement surging forward with barely a pause for breath. It’s raw, fast, and dangerous, but never messy.

Stylistically, comparisons have already been made to the Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro, and Audioslave, though Mad Morning injects more of a punk sneer into proceedings, stripping away any polish in favour of urgency and sweat-soaked attitude.
