Miley Cyrus is officially engaged to musician Maxx Morando, and in true Miley fashion, the news has taken a humorous turn after she joked that her sparkling engagement ring was basically a “Black Friday deal.” The singer confirmed the engagement during multiple recent appearances, proudly showing off her custom cushion-cut diamond ring while sharing how the proposal genuinely surprised her. Miley continues to shine in both her personal and artistic life, as seen by the new buzz surrounding her upcoming music projects and the celebration of the most recent milestone in her four-year relationship with Morando by fans.

Miley Cyrus Confirms Engagement with Maxx Morando

After almost four years together, pop sensation Miley Cyrus, 33, and musician Maxx Morando, 27, are now formally engaged. The news broke, following their appearance at the international premiere of ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ on 1st December, when Cyrus was spotted wearing an eye-catching diamond ring. Designed by Jeweler Jacquie Aiche, the custom ring has a broad 14-karat yellow gold band with a cushion-cut diamond set east to west. The diamond is probably between 4 and 5 carats, and experts put its value between US$150,000 and US$450,000.

Cyrus and Morando first connected via a blind date, made public in late 2021, and confirmed their romance in April 2022. Over time, the couple have kept things mostly private—until now. According to Cyrus, Morando proposed earlier this month during a trip to Asia, surprising her despite her usual desire to control situations. “I was so, so, so surprised,” she said.

The “Black Friday Deal” Joke

The talk show host congratulated Cyrus on her engagement when she appeared on the latest episode of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ show on 4th December. He joked that her fiancé might have waited three weeks so he wouldn’t need a Christmas present. In response, Cyrus flashed the ring and quipped, “This was [a] Black Friday deal, baby.” She quickly followed up with laughter, adding, “It wasn’t, but he was smart that way. It might have been. I’m not sure.”

Despite being lighthearted, her remark delighted both fans and the media, adding a humorous touch to a very personal milestone. However, the joke gave the engagement news a playful touch and a confirmation too. Cyrus acknowledged that the proposal was a true surprise, despite the glitz and humour. During a recent interview on ‘Good Morning America,’ she talked about how difficult it is to surprise her and how moved she was by Morando’s kind gesture. She praised him as “a great partner” and credited their relationship for much of her personal growth over the past years.

What’s Next?

This engagement comes at an exciting period for Cyrus. She and Morando have already worked together professionally, with Morando contributing to ‘Something Beautiful,’ her eighth studio album. Miley believes that the time is ideal for her both creatively and personally. As the couple steps into this new chapter, fans are looking forward to what’s next: a possible wedding, the next musical era, and more glimpses of their life together. For now, the ring, the laughter, and the love story have stolen the spotlight.
