The conversation about AI is getting louder, but something else is becoming clearer too. Women are not stepping into it at the same pace as men.<\/p>\n

In one Australian study, 61% of men said they already use generative AI at work, compared with just 40% of women. That gap isn\u2019t just about access. It\u2019s about trust and confidence. Globally, women started at roughly half the adoption rate of men in 2023. While that gap is closing, women still remain underrepresented in day-to-day use and in key tools like ChatGPT through 2024 and into 2025.<\/p>\n

What I\u2019m often hearing from women is this.
\u201cIt feels like cheating.\u201d
\u201cWhat if it takes my job?\u201d
\u201cWhat if I become irrelevant?\u201d<\/p>\n

These are fair questions. Sensible questions. I heard the same concerns at a recent Women in Tech panel I attended. And yes, there are real risks, real change, and real disruption.<\/p>\n

But here is the part we can no longer ignore. Forget VUCA. AI is the real disruptor of our time. This is not a passing trend or a shiny new toy. It is becoming infrastructure.<\/strong><\/p>\n

And the real question is not: Should I use AI?
The question is: How do I stay relevant in a world that already is?<\/p>\n

Because what gets replaced by AI is not leadership. It\u2019s tasks. Repetitive work. Processes that can be automated. Drafting, summarising, scheduling, searching, organising, formatting.<\/p>\n

AI is taking on the \u2018doing\u2019 so that humans can do more of the \u2018being and leading\u2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n

And this is exactly where people have the greatest opportunity to reinvent and reposition themselves.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Even in organisations where AI is restricted or banned, you are not powerless. You are not sitting idle. You can use it at home, in your business, in your thinking, in your planning, in the everyday parts of life that quietly drain your time and energy.<\/p>\n

There are now personal shopper GPTs. Outfit planning tools. Recipe generators. Travel planners. Platforms like Claude, Perplexity, Jasper, Gamma, Midjourney, Otter, Notion AI and Copy.ai that help you think, write, structure, plan and create faster.<\/p>\n

It is not about becoming a tech expert.
It is about becoming a more intentional human.<\/strong><\/p>\n

And here is what I often see instead.<\/p>\n

People hiding behind experience. Behind loyalty. Behind the belief that seniority is a safety net. Staying in roles that no longer stretch them. Telling themselves they are \u201cvaluable\u201d because they have been there the longest.<\/p>\n

But in a world that changes this fast, loyalty without evolution becomes invisibility.
And experience without reinvention becomes your biggest risk.<\/strong><\/p>\n

If AI is about tasks, then reinvention is about your traits.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The skills AI struggles to replicate are the ones that define true leadership:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Self-awareness, empathy and judgment<\/li>\n
  2. Emotional intelligence and relationship building<\/li>\n
  3. Creativity, intuition and critical thinking<\/li>\n
  4. Values-based decision making<\/li>\n
  5. The courage to lead conversations, not just outcomes<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    That is your relevance. That is your edge.<\/p>\n

    Reinvention is not about starting from zero. It is about building on who you already are and choosing how you want to show up next.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The leaders who will thrive in the next decade won\u2019t be the ones who know the most tools. They will be the ones who are brave enough to adapt, curious enough to learn, and grounded enough to know what makes them irreplaceable.<\/p>\n

    And the truth is, you are not competing with AI.
    You are competing with the version of you that refuses to evolve.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    So if you\u2019ve been waiting for permission to shift, consider this it.<\/p>\n

    Because relevance isn\u2019t something you\u2019re handed.
    It\u2019s a choice you make, again and again.<\/strong><\/p>\n
