testimony in the Ghanaian language<\/a><\/b>, and now I want to share it in English. Can we
\npray? <\/span><\/p>\nFather, in the name of Jesus, let this testimony
\nchange lives and transform others. In Jesus\u2019 name, Amen. <\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nAll
\nright, loved ones in Christ Jesus, this is brother or minister Duodu Henry Appiahkorang.
\nAnd I want to share my testimony with you of how God saved me from the traps of
\nthe wicked one. I believe that this sermon or this testimony is going to change
\nyour life.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nBecause
\nsome people who went through my path could not make it, and some of them are
\ndead. I know friends who are insane and mad on the street because they couldn’t
\nmake it. But God has shown mercy upon my life, so I want to share this
\ntestimony with you.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nThis
\nincident happened while I was at university. When I entered the university in
\n2013, I was admitted to a program leading to a Bachelor of Science in
\nAccounting. So, while I was at school, I had a friend in Koforidua. He was near
\nour house, and I used to go to his house and then play around with him. <\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nI
\ndidn’t know my friend was an idol worshiper. He was an Ewe, a tribe in Ghana
\nmost often found in the Volta Region. So this friend of mine, as I was going to
\nhis house, we started talking, and over time, I became closer to him.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nSo
\none day I was in the house with him as we were talking together. This friend of
\nmine took me to his idol center, his shrine. By the way, I never knew that this
\nfriend of mine was an idol worshipper.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nSo
\nwhen he took me to this idol-worship center, he did some kind of incantations
\nand other rituals there. Initially, before you enter his idol shrine, you have
\nto remove your sandals. So I removed my sandals and I entered there.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nI
\nbecame familiar with him and found out that he is an idol worshipper. So I
\nbecame aware that he’s an idol worshipper. So one day I went to his house,
\nand he said I should follow him, so I followed him.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nHe
\ntook me to a certain place, and we took some leaves, like he took some leaves
\nfrom certain trees. And then he brought it back to his idol place. That is
\nwhere he lives. At that time, he lived with his parents near our house.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nOur
\nhouse was not all that far from their place. So when he took me to this bushy
\nplace, he plucked some leaves from certain trees, and brought them back to his
\nidol place, I was with him. When we went to the place to pluck these leaves, he
\nwas the one plucking them, and I was just watching him. <\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nSo
\nwhen we came back to his idol center, initially, there was a pot in front of
\nhis idol shrine. There was a pot in front of the shrine, and inside it was
\nwater. The pot had a hole under it. This friend had plugged a kind of tree, a
\nkind of stick, beneath the pot, and the water wasn’t flowing down, even though
\nthere were holes under the pot. But no water was coming out of the pot.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nSo
\nhe took the pot and then poured the water away. And then, after he and I went
\nwith him to take the leaves from the bush, he washed them with some water. And
\nthen he poured new water into that pot and began to make some incantations over
\nit.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nSo
\nwhile he was making the incantation, the water was coming out. I saw, as I
\ncould, that water was coming out of the pot! As he continued his incantation,
\nthe water in the pot suddenly stopped flowing.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nI
\nsaw a hole under the pot, but after making the incantation with the leaves and
\nsome words, the water did not come out again. And then he took some of the
\nleaves that we went out to pluck from the bush.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nAnd
\nthen he took some kind of thread. He wrapped the thread around my waist and gave
\nme some of the water inside the pot to drink. The pot upon which he made the
\nincantation. So I drank a little.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nAnd
\nthen he took some thread and some leaves, wrapped them around my waist, and
\nmade some kind of incantation. And then at that time he allowed me to undress,
\nbut it was left with my boxers.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nThat
\nis, it was only left with my boxers. So, after he gave me some of the water to
\ndrink, he just made an incantation and took away the leaves and the thread from
\nme. When he took the leaves and the thread away from me, he bathed me with some
\nof the water inside the pot.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nAnd
\nthen he took those leaves and that thread to a certain place. I don’t know why
\nhe made that incantation. Maybe I believe he was trying to make some kind of
\nsacrifice or ceremonial sacrifice on me.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nSo
\nafter he made that sacrifice, he made that incantation, then he bathed me with
\nthat water.<\/span><\/p>\nHe
\nnow told me that anytime I’m in trouble, I should call upon a certain god. He
\ngave me that name.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nThe
\nname of the god was Nana Jojo Hadwo. He told me that\u2014 that friend of mine told
\nme that, maybe in case I’m in trouble and need help, I should call upon that
\ngod. And the name of that god, he told me to mention, was, I remember, Nana
\nJojo Hadwo.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nThat
\nis what he told me, that I should mention that name. So after he did all those
\nthings to my life, I became more troublesome and very stubborn at home. And
\nthen whatever he told me, I followed. <\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nA
\ntime came, and he was very close to me. Like we walked together, we go to
\nplaces. And a time came when he even wanted to give me a ring, and I didn’t
\ntake it. By the grace of God, I didn’t take that ring.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nSo
\nwhat happened was that I needed some money to buy a specific laptop. I already
\nhad a laptop, but I wanted to get a modern laptop, like an i7, and then those
\ntemplates. And I wanted to buy many, many things.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nAnd
\nI was asking my parents for the money to buy those things, but they weren’t
\ngiving it to me. So I told that friend of mine he should consult his gods and
\nhave his god make me some money, because I wanted that money to buy those
\nmodern laptops. <\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nSo
\none day he called me, and we went to his idol-worship center. And then he made an
\nincantation, called upon his god, shouted and cried, and did many other things,
\nbut nothing happened.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nSo
\nhe told me that my issue is that we need to consult a more experienced juju
\npriest who can do it better than he can. So he took me to an old man in Monrovia.
\nIt was near Koforidua Apenkwa. He took me to an old man in Monrovia.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nWhen
\nhe took me to the old man in Monrovia, when we went to the old man’s place, the
\nold man told us to buy him two cigarettes and some small alcohol. So we went to
\nbuy the two cigarettes and then the alcohol, and then we brought it back to the
\nold man.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nSo
\nthe old man took it and entered his idol, his shrine, and within minutes, he
\ncame back. And he told us that he has consulted his gods. Initially, I saw
\nthat place as extremely diabolical because it seemed to be reserved only for
\nhim.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nHe
\ndid not allow us to enter with him in that place. He only went there, and my
\nfriend and I were standing outside his old house. So when he came out from the
\nshrine, he told us that he had consulted his gods.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nAnd
\nafter consulting his gods, his gods are saying that there are only two ways
\nthat he can help me. It is either he gives me a \u201cpocket no dry.\u201d Now, what he
\nsaid was that this \u201cpocket no dry\u201d\u2014like he would give me an amount of money,
\nlet’s say 50 Ghana cedis \u2014and I can use that money to buy anything I want.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nWhen
\nI buy anything I want, I should make sure I do not exceed that amount. So let’s
\nsay he gives me 50 Ghana cedis, and then I’ll go to any shop and buy whatever I
\nwant. When I buy something from the shop, I should not spend more than the 50
\nGhana cedis he gave me.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nSo
\nafter I give out that money, the balance that comes to me, that 50 Ghana, will
\nreturn to my wallet. So that’s what he told me. And then he told me again that
\nI should look into my family, the second option that he gave to me.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nSo
\nhe told me that I should look into my family, the richest one in my family, and
\nbring that person’s belongings. He will make some chants, and then he can
\nchange the person’s mind so that, no matter what I tell that person, the person
\nwill give me whatever I need.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nSo
\nhe told me to think about it. So I just thought through, and I said this thing,
\nI’m not sure. With my friend, I didn’t agree with either option. And then he
\ntold us that he also knows another greater juju man, or a priest who can also
\ndo it.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nBecause
\nI told the old man that I wanted that instant money to do what I wanted. And my
\nfriend was the one who was taking me to these people. So the old man said that
\nhe would take us to a certain place.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nNow
\nI’ve gotten that place, but that place, when you’re going to Suhum in the
\nEastern Region of Ghana, it is a village. I know that place. If you say I
\nshould show you that place, I can show you that place.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nSo
\nwe went to that place, and the old man led us there. That’s how the old man led
\nus to the place. So we went to the place. It is a village. The old man told us
\nthat we should buy some alcohol.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nWe
\nbought some alcohol and then he led us to that shrine. We went to that shrine. From
\nthat time, I did not see the old man again, the one who brought us to the idol
\nworshipper in that village.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nSo
\nby the grace of God, we met\u2014 I\u2019m saying the grace of God\u2014 well, we met the
\npeople in that place. And then I told him my problem. And then he told me he’d
\nneed some materials. The priest told me he’ll need a marine hair, a dwarf, and
\nsome strange things.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nI told him I couldn’t provide those things. Is there any way out? And he
\ntold me that if I have money, I can give it out, and then he has a friend who
\ncan go to Togo and buy all the things they need for the sacrifice.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nSo
\nat that time, I had my school fees with me, along with the hostel fees I was
\nsupposed to pay at the university. They were on me. So I gave him a portion of
\nthe money, and he told me that he would go and buy all those materials, so we
\nshould take our time.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nInitially,
\nI went back with David, my friend who had taken me to that old man, to that
\nplace. So he told us to come back in three days. So, three days later, we came
\nback, and he told us they had gone to buy the materials.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nSo
\nnow I have to go buy perfume, powder, a nice perfume, and many, many other
\nthings he told me I should buy. So that he can use those things to make the
\nritual. So he told us to go and buy those things.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nSo
\nwe took a car and went back to Koforidua to buy the powder, the perfume, some
\nkind of good-smelling material, and a bag. That’s the money that we will use to
\ncarry our money. So I also bought an exercise book\u2014sorry, a bag with that
\npowder and all those things \u2014and then we came back to the shrine.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\nSo
\nwhen we returned to the shrine, he performed some incantations inside the
\nshrine. When you’re entering, you have to remove your sandals. So my friend and
\nI removed our sandals and entered there.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nAnd
\nsince my friend was an idol worshipper, he understood them. There were two
\ninside the shrine with my friend, so we were four in total. So the man brought
\na pot and then poured some powder into it.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nAnd
\nadded some kind of materials, and he was making some incantation. He was like
\nchanting, like he was shouting, chanting, making some incantations. Then he
\ntold me to go bathe with that water in the pot.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nAnd
\nwhilst I am bathing, I should tell the god what I want. He gave me the name of
\nthe god, but I have forgotten it. So he told me to go bathe with that water. Beside
\nthe house, there was a bathhouse.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nAnd
\nhe told me that after bathing, when I’m coming back, I should not look backward;
\nif I do, something may happen to me. So I took the pot and then went into the
\nbathroom beside the shrine.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nAnd
\nthen, as I was bathing with the water in the pot, I mentioned the god’s name
\nand said I wanted money; I wanted to buy this. Like I told him, all my heart
\ndesires \u2014 all that I needed \u2014 as I was making the confession and bathing with
\nthe water.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nAfter
\nbathing with the water in the pot, as I was going back to the shrine, I could
\nfeel that something was following me. I could feel like I was very heavy \u2014 like
\nsomething. I could feel in my heart that something was following me.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nI
\nremembered he told me that I should not look back; who knows, if I looked back,
\nmaybe I would have gone mad or died. I believe that God saved me from this
\ntrap. So I went back to the shrine, and then he told me that he had made
\nincantations several times.<\/span><\/p>\nHe
\neven showed me a thread \u2014 some kind of thread \u2014 and told me he has even sent
\nsome of his dwarves to the banks to collect the money, but they still can’t
\ntake it from the bank. So he was saying that in my house, the powers are
\nstrong, so I have to be more vigilant.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nSo
\nafter making several incantations, he brought out 20 Ghana cedis. And he told
\nme to go share the money with my family. When I share the money in my family,
\nthe money will come back into my bag.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nSo
\nI told him I cannot share the money with my family because my parents know I am
\nin school. Because when I went with my friend to that place, at that time, they
\nhad given me money to go to school.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nSo
\nat that time, my parents knew I was in school, while I was with my friend who
\nhad taken me there. So I told him that I cannot send the money to my family and
\nthen share it with them. So he told me to go outside the shrine, then bring the
\nfirst leaf I saw into the shrine.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nSo
\nI went out and plucked the first leaf I set my eye on. I just unplugged the
\nleaf and brought it to the juju man or the priest. And he told me again that I
\nshould walk barefoot to a junction, then take some dust from under my feet.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nHe
\ntold me that when I get to the junction, I should get some sand or dust under
\nmy feet and then bring it to him. Because he’s going to use it for something \u2014
\nI don’t know what he was going to use it for.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nSo
\nI just walked barefoot to the junction, then picked up some sand under my foot
\nand brought it to him at the shrine. After I gave it to him, he told me that
\neverything was okay. So now I can share the 20 cedis with anyone I meet on the
\nroad or anyone I want to give it to. Or I should buy something with the money
\nand give it out to friends or anybody.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nNow,
\nlet me just share this thing here. Loved ones in Christ, when someone gives you
\nmoney, you must pray over the money because some money is very, very, very
\ndangerous. Some forms of money are not physical.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nSome
\nof the money that you have been dying for \u2014 if you don’t take care, somebody
\ncan give you some money, and you might die because they have made some kind of
\ncharms over the money.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
