I am a child of God\u2014a truth that changes everything. Yet so many of us struggle to grasp what this really means for our everyday lives. We hear the words, maybe even believe them intellectually, but do we live<\/em> like we believe them?<\/p>\n

When we truly understand our identity as God\u2019s beloved children, everything shifts. The way we see ourselves. The way we face our struggles. The way we walk through both the messy and the beautiful moments of life<\/a>. This isn\u2019t just a nice religious phrase\u2014it\u2019s a powerful reality that has the strength to transform us from the inside out.<\/p>\n

I was nearly eight months pregnant, huge, exhausted, and hobbling around in a medical boot after a clumsy fall. Yet somehow, there I was \u2014 sprinting<\/em> across the zoo after my fast-moving 2-year-old. My foot throbbed, my belly bounced, and I could feel dozens of eyes watching as I waddled through the crowd, trying to stop him from charging straight toward the \u201cDo Not Enter\u201d gate near the lions.<\/p>\n

Can you picture it? The giggles? The eye rolls? The whispered comments?<\/p>\n

I Wasn\u2019t Living Like I Believed That I Am a Child of God<\/h2>\n

What shook me most wasn\u2019t the running. It was the judgmental stares from the two women I was with. Their toddlers weren\u2019t acting like mine, and in that moment, insecurity wrapped around my heart like a tight grip.<\/p>\n

Suddenly, one small moment spiraled into a flood of thoughts:<\/p>\n

Maybe I\u2019m not doing this motherhood thing right.<\/em>
Maybe I\u2019m failing.<\/em>
Maybe I\u2019m not enough.<\/em><\/p>\n

Have you been there? Has insecurity ever risen up in you unexpectedly\u2014during a mistake, a conflict, a setback, or a moment of comparison?<\/p>\n

This verse is a powerful reminder that your worth is not defined by circumstances, people, mistakes, or emotions. Instead, your identity rests in one profound Truth.<\/a><\/p>\n

And this truth, my friend, changes everything.<\/p>\n

Why Insecurity Shows Up \u2014 Even When We Know the Truth<\/h2>\n

No matter how strong our faith, insecurity can slip into our thoughts and shake what we believe. It creeps in during life\u2019s hard moments\u2014the ones we can\u2019t control, the ones that leave us feeling unsafe and exposed.<\/p>\n

Moments like rejection and betrayal<\/a>. Failure that leaves us questioning everything. The wounds of abuse that won\u2019t seem to heal. The sting of jealousy, the weight of bitterness, or anger we can\u2019t shake. And the shame that is often the relentless voice that tells us we\u2019re not enough.<\/p>\n

These experiences chip away at our confidence and whisper lies <\/a>about who we are. They tell us we\u2019re not worthy, not loved, not enough. And if we\u2019re not careful, we start believing those lies more than we believe the truth.<\/p>\n

But friend, God never intended for His children to live in insecurity or fear. He created us for a life rooted in His unshakable love and the security of knowing exactly whose we are.<\/p>\n

Before I Knew I Was a Child of God, Insecurity Ruled My Life<\/h2>\n

From as early as I can remember, insecurity was shaping how I saw myself. I didn\u2019t yet understand what it meant to be loved and chosen by God, so I started looking everywhere else for proof that I mattered.<\/p>\n

I measured my worth by people\u2019s reactions to me. By my mistakes and my successes. By whether I failed or won.<\/p>\n

The equation was painfully simple: Success meant I was worthy. Failure meant I was worthless.<\/p>\n

I looked to the world\u2014not God\u2014to define me. And insecurity happily took the throne of my heart.<\/p>\n

Why Knowing You Are a Child of God Changes Everything<\/h2>\n

Can you say \u201cI am a child of God\u201d and truly feel the weight of that truth?<\/p>\n

We\u2019re living in chaotic, uncertain times. Fear, anger, pressure, and instability seem to rule our emotions. Mental health struggles are at an all-time high. And honestly? I think I know why.<\/p>\n

Long before you were ever a thought here on earth, God created you with loving detail and devotion. That deep longing you feel in your soul? It\u2019s for the One who has loved you since before time began. We\u2019ve all felt it. Every person since the beginning of time has felt it. It\u2019s the longing that, when fulfilled, makes us whole and able to live differently.<\/p>\n

But our culture has drifted so far from this foundational truth. Which makes it more important than ever for you to know this:<\/p>\n

Your identity is not found in what you do, but in who God says you are.<\/h3>\n

When you believe God\u2019s Word, everything changes. You act differently. Think differently. Live more confidently. You overcome fear and insecurity not because you\u2019ve mustered up enough strength, but because you\u2019re standing on something solid\u2014the truth of whose you are.<\/p>\n

And when you truly know your value in Christ? You stop walking in defeat and start walking in victory.<\/p>\n

If we want to overcome insecurity and walk fully as God\u2019s children, it starts with Scripture. What we believe determines how we live.<\/p>\n

God\u2019s Word reshapes our mindset, which includes the way we think about ourselves and our circumstances. It rebuilds our self-worth from the ground up. It changes how we respond to life\u2019s challenges. And most importantly, it anchors our identity in something that can never be shaken<\/a>.<\/p>\n

When everything around us feels uncertain\u2014global crises, racial tension, economic fear, family challenges\u2014God\u2019s truth becomes our stability. It\u2019s the solid ground beneath our feet when the world is spinning out of control.<\/p>\n

Spiritual Growth Requires Discipline\u2014But It\u2019s Worth It<\/h2>\n

Living as a child of God doesn\u2019t happen overnight. It\u2019s a daily journey of choosing truth over lies.<\/p>\n

And friend, the enemy will try to convince you to delay. To put it off until tomorrow. To tell yourself you\u2019re too busy or too far gone. But here\u2019s what I\u2019ve learned: insecurity loses its power when we stand firm in the truth<\/a> of who God is and who He says we are.<\/p>\n
