They Must Stand By Their Word.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sacramento, CA \u2013<\/strong> Ten California Congressmembers including every Republican representative and one Democrat from California, voted yesterday on a short-term government funding plan without extending health care subsidies for lower and middle-income people. Without further action, their votes will result in health care costs soaring for millions of Americans as of Jan 1.<\/p>\n<p>Nearly 2 million people across our state who depend on these subsidies to keep themselves and their loved ones healthy and their small businesses afloat will now have to pay an average of 100% more next year for the same plan. Representatives Valadao and Kim had promised repeatedly that they would prioritize health care for their constituents, but have repeatedly failed to do so.<\/p>\n<p>The following statement comes from the Fight for Our Health coalition, which represents seniors in nursing homes, people fighting cancer, children, veterans, working families, and home care workers.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cAt a time when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/california\/story\/2025-11-11\/poll-shows-rising-concern-about-healthcare-in-california\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">90% of Californians are worried about the cost of health care<\/a> \u2013 Congress\u2019s refusal to hear our cries for help is shameful.
