The goal isn\u2019t to have all the answers\u2014it\u2019s to <\/span>be open<\/span> and show your child that these topics are safe to talk about.<\/span><\/p>\n

\ud83d\udca1 <\/span>Body-Positive Tip:<\/span> Avoid labeling parts of the body as \u201cprivate\u201d in a way that creates shame. Forget the euphemisms. We call a penis a penis, a vulva a vulva. When kids have accurate language for their bodies, they can communicate clearly and feel proud of their knowledge. <\/span><\/p>\n\n

\ud83c\udfa5 3. Choose Empowering Media Together<\/span><\/h3>\n

Media can either reinforce stereotypes\u2014or open hearts and minds. Choose shows, books, and videos that feature:<\/span><\/p>\n

Let your kids know they\u2019re <\/span>enough<\/span> exactly as they are.<\/span>

Model respect and curiosity, and let them see you embracing your own body and identity, too.<\/span><\/p>\n

Just like bodies grow over time, so do kids\u2019 questions\u2014and their ability to understand complex ideas.<\/span><\/p>\n
