Right Place Right Time By Ali McNamara

I was given this book courtesy of Netgalley, Bloomsbury

Publishing Plc (UK & ANZ) and Ali McNamara to read in return for my

honest review.

My Rating – ★★★★☆

Goodreads Rating – 3.96/5

Publication date 19th June 2025

This book is available in paperback eBook and Audio.

Synopsis

Could this be the moment they’ve both been waiting for?

Eve has always loved antiques. She loves the way an item

from the past can offer a glimpse of another world, of another time. It’s why

she painstakingly researches the stories behind every item in Rainy Day

Antiques, her little Cambridge shop, to share with their new owners. It’s her way

of honouring the past and cherishing the present.

Adam is firmly focussed on the future. He’s only in town to

sort his late grandfather’s affairs. When he discovers that his grandfather

hired Eve to manage his house clearance, he can only hope her methods don’t

delay his return to London.

What neither of them know is that Adam’s grandfather chose

Eve for a reason. It’s finally the right place and the right time for the two

of them to meet. But what did he have planned for them?

My Review

I have read and enjoyed many Ali McNamara books, so jumped

at the chance to read her latest release. This time we were transported to a

wonderful corner of Cambridge were community, friendship and family ties shone

through. The characters were are all instantly lovable and relatable and each

had sensitive subjects that seemed to bring them together. These topics were

touched on in a very sensitive manor and included grief, survivors’ guilt, and

disability.

This book was wonderfully written and about half way through,

when I had no idea where it was heading, a surprising twist was thrown in and

kept me wanting to read more. Although it was very enjoyable and I struggled to

put it down, towards the final few chapters I did feel like it felt the story

was running out of steam and I was a little disappointed with how it ended. I

won’t go into detail as I do try not to give spoilers and ruin it for anyone

else.

Would I recommend this book even with my disappointment, yes

definitely it ticks all the normal Ali McNamara boxes of Romantic fiction,

brilliant setting, wonderful characters with a magical twist but the twist is

certainly different!

Thank you so much Netgalley, Bloomsbury Publishing Plc (UK

& ANZ) and Ali McNamara for the opportunity to read and review this heart-warming

book.
