Americans are<\/span><\/a> consistently<\/span><\/a> saying<\/span><\/a> that the cost of living is their top concern, and health care prices, in particular, are set to soar<\/span><\/a> in 2026 \u2014 with employers expected to face the largest price increase in more than a decade. This comes as Americans already spend far more<\/span><\/a> than any other country on health care, despite having some of the worst rates<\/span><\/a> of life expectancy and infant mortality among wealthy nations.<\/p>\n

Medicare for All, a policy popularized<\/span><\/a> by Senator Bernie Sanders, would provide all Americans with health care that is free at the point of service, paid for by tax increases.<\/p>\n

In a new survey<\/span><\/a>, Data for Progress finds that 65% of voters support a Medicare for All system \u2014 described as a \u201cnational health insurance program\u2026that would cover all Americans and replace most private health insurance plans.\u201d This includes majorities of Democrats (78%) and Independents (71%), and a plurality of Republicans (49%).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
