The\u00a0Five Nights at Freddy\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>franchise is set in a haunted pizzeria and arcade, where the sins of the past\u00a0return in the form of creepy animatronics possessed by the spirits of murdered children \u2014\u00a0sort of like\u00a0what\u00a0manifests inside\u00a0a man\u2019s stomach a few hours after\u00a0he consumes\u00a0an entire promotional tie-in menu for a blockbuster movie.\u00a0Said man (i.e. me)\u00a0committed a grievous error, and now they must pay for it.<\/p>\n Precisely how much he (I) will pay is what he (I) am here to find out. Today I\u2019m at my local Popeyes, the beloved chicken chain that has, somewhat counterintuitively, partnered with\u00a0Five Nights at Freddy\u2019s 2<\/a><\/em> for what they are calling \u201cThe Freddy Fazbear Crunch Menu.\u201d Why a\u00a0crunch<\/em> menu? I don\u2019t know. All I know for certain is I am about to undertake the culinary equivalent of an\u00a0animatronic robot attack.<\/p>\n (Also: Did you know it\u2019s spelled \u201cPopeyes\u201d and not \u201cPopeye\u2019s\u201d? I did not. No possessive!\u00a0Popeyes welcomes\u00a0all Popeyes, whether\u00a0they are a sailor man or a no-nonsense New York detective.)<\/p>\n The\u00a0Five Nights at Freddy\u2019s 2<\/em> menu contains a special limited-time varietal of Popeyes\u2019 chicken tenders coated in a \u201csavory garlic parmesan rub\u201d as well as \u201cgarlic crusted\u201d cheese curds. (Haunted animatronics\u00a0are famously partial to garlic.) They\u2019ve also got a special dessert called a \u201ccupcake cup,\u201d which feels like one of the more\u00a0redundantly named food items I have ever encountered during my travels through the world of movie tie-in food<\/a>.<\/p>\n Nonetheless, I\u00a0ate\u00a0it and everything else on this Five Nights at Freddy\u2019s 2<\/em> menu. Here are my findings.<\/p>\n In honor of Five Nights at Freddy\u2019s 2, <\/em>Popeyes has haunted animatronic chicken.
