Table of Contents

Companies can achieve their science-based targets by following three practical steps: assessing their current energy use, optimizing systems to reduce consumption, and monitoring progress over time. Atlas Copco supports each stage with audits, high-efficiency compressors, energy recovery systems, and real-time monitoring tools that turn climate commitments into measurable results.

Science-based targets (SBTi) are emissions reduction goals aligned with climate science. The Science Based Targets initiative provides companies with clear pathways to cut greenhouse gas emissions in line with the Paris Agreement.

These targets help businesses move beyond promises and demonstrate climate action with measurable results.

Compressed air can account for up to 40% of a facility’s electricity use. Reducing energy waste in air systems is one of the most effective ways to cut energy consumption and reduce carbon emissions.

That makes compressors not only a critical operational investment, but also a key sustainability lever.

To achieve science-based targets, companies must first assess their current energy footprint.

🔹 Atlas Copco offers AIRchitect simulations and energy audits that give you a data-driven baseline to set realistic SBTi-aligned targets.

After the assessment, the next step is optimization. Optimizing compressed air systems leads to both cost savings and measurable carbon reduction.

🔹 Atlas Copco offers a full portfolio of efficiency-driven solutions, from VSD+ compressors to energy recovery systems, to directly reduce emissions while improving reliability and uptime.

Continuous progress requires continuous tracking. Companies that monitor their compressed air systems can stay aligned with SBTi goals and prove results to stakeholders.

🔹 Atlas Copco provides monitoring and reporting tools that help demonstrate accountability and ensure companies stay on track for their science-based targets.

Atlas Copco partners with companies across industries to move from commitment to measurable action.

We provide:
