{"id":319860,"date":"2025-11-25T20:25:26","date_gmt":"2025-11-25T20:25:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peraltafinancing.com\/uncategorized\/iranian-director-protests-screening-of-his-film-at-israeli-festival\/"},"modified":"2025-11-25T20:25:26","modified_gmt":"2025-11-25T20:25:26","slug":"iranian-director-protests-screening-of-his-film-at-israeli-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=319860","title":{"rendered":"Iranian Director Protests Screening Of His Film At Israeli Festival"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p id=\"tdi_74\" class=\"td_block_inner\">Iranian filmmaker Mohammad Rasoulof has strongly objected to the screening of his latest film, The Seed of the Sacred Fig, at a festival in Israel, saying he is \u201cdeeply outraged\u201d by the decision.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_75\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p>In a statement posted on Instagram, Rasoulof said he learned through social media that the film was being shown at the \u201cNowruz Festival\u201d in the border town of Sderot, near Gaza.<\/p>\n<p>The director said that while the international distribution rights to his film have been licensed to global distributors, he rejects its inclusion in an event hosted in \u201ca place whose politicians have targeted the people of Iran with bombs and missiles.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am deeply angered by the screening of my film in such a place,\u201d he wrote, adding that he considers the decision incompatible with his own moral and political position.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the festival\u2019s director, Rasoulof said the film was created, \u201cto the best of my ability, to express my hatred and disgust toward oppression and injustice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He urged the organizers to \u201cshow the same courage in condemning the rulers of the land you live in\u2014whose hands are stained with the blood of so many people.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Iranian filmmaker Mohammad Rasoulof has strongly objected to the screening of his latest film, The Seed of the Sacred Fig, at a festival in Israel, saying he is \u201cdeeply outraged\u201d by the decision.
