From poet Richard Blanco:\u00a0<\/span>\u201cI say this might be the end we\u2019ve always needed to begin again. I say this may be the end to let us hope to heal, to evolve, reach the stars. Again I\u2019ll say: heal, evolve, reach, and become the stars that became us\u2014whether or not this is or is not our end.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

First stanza of SAY THIS ISN’T THE END:<\/span><\/p>\n

… say we live on, say we\u2019ll forget the masks<\/span>
that kept us from dying from the invisible,<\/span>
but say we won\u2019t ever forget the invisible<\/span>
masks we realized we had been wearing<\/span>
most our lives, disguising ourselves from<\/span>
each other. Say we won\u2019t veil ourselves again,<\/span>
that our souls will keep breathing timelessly,<\/span>
that we won\u2019t return to clocking our lives<\/span>
with lists and appointments. Say we\u2019ll keep<\/span>
our days errant as sun showers, impulsive<\/span>
as a star\u2019s falling. Say this isn\u2019t our end \u2026<\/span><\/p>\n
