Honestly, everyone gets to that point sometimes, no matter how much they love to travel, it just happens. <\/p>\n
Yeah, sure, you start off all excited, like the camera in hand, and you\u2019re power-walking through museums and markets, it all feels utterly amazing too.\u00a0<\/p>\n
But of course, if you cram too much in, you just get tired, like physically and mentally. Some people have an issue with using trips as a \u201cdo and see literally everything,\u201d\u00a0 and there\u2019s that whole FOMO aspect too. <\/p>\n
Sure, it\u2019s understandable, but you\u2019re not relaxing, and you\u2019re usually not experiencing the moment either. That\u2019s when you need a \u201cdo nothing\u201d day.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Some people will do this during rainy days<\/a>, and sure, help yourself to that, but the weather itself shouldn\u2019t matter. You should try and have at least one day (especially if this trip is more than 5 days) where you can just relax. You deserve to have pure, unapologetic stillness.<\/p>\n People get so weird about this. \u201cOh, but you\u2019re in Paris, how could you not go out?\u201d Well, an easy answer to this: you\u2019re tired. <\/p>\n Literally, that\u2019s it, that\u2019s all the justification you\u2019ll ever need. Believe it or not, but you don\u2019t need to be busy to have a good time. Seriously, taking a day to do nothing doesn\u2019t mean you\u2019re wasting your trip. <\/p>\n You get to breathe. You get to sleep in, take your time, and stop rushing from one photo-op to another. When you\u2019re not rushing, things just feel different, like magical even.<\/p>\n If you\u2019re gonna take a \u201cdo nothing\u201d day, go all in. Meaning, you shouldn\u2019t half-commit. Besides, you\u2019re resting, not recovering from guilt. <\/p>\n For example, you should order that ridiculous breakfast in bed. You deserve to take a long shower and use every free hotel lotion you can find, take the (hopefully free) drink from the minibar.\u00a0<\/p>\n There\u2019s literally no harm in that! If there\u2019s a spa in the hotel, well, why not go to that?\u00a0 If the hotel you\u2019re at has afternoon tea<\/a>, well, why not do that too? <\/p>\n It just feels nice not needing to rush, not having any plans, and just enjoying some peace. Again, you\u2019re on a trip, just being able to relax is the real luxury here.<\/p>\n Have you ever noticed how when you\u2019re tired, everything gets on your nerves<\/a>? Like every tiny little thing just sets you off? <\/p>\n Like, people walk too slow just really gets to you. The food takes too long. You start fighting with your travel buddy (or spouse) over something dumb that doesn\u2019t even matter.<\/p>\n \u00a0Well, that\u2019s due to exhaustion, so yeah, why make yourself exhausted if it leads to being in a bad mood anyway? But yeah, a \u201cdo nothing\u201d day fixes all of that. It resets your energy so you can actually enjoy the rest of your trip; it\u2019s honestly that simple.<\/p>\nIt Doesn\u2019t Mean You\u2019re Wasting the Trip<\/strong><\/h3>\n
